Folk School Youth
In Concert Sunday

On Sunday evening, June 12,
the children of the Jewish Folk
Schools will stage a concert, in
costumes, at the Labor Zionist
Institute, Pasadena a n d Lin-
wood.
"Rabbi Akiba," a sketch de-
picting Judaea's struggle against
Rome and paralleling the strug-
gle for Jewish independence in
this era, will be one of the fea-
tures.
Songs by the school choir, rec-
itations and other selections
will be on the program of this
event which will be the con-
cluding concert of the current
school year.
At 11 Sunday morning, the
children of the Jewish Folk
Schools will go on their annual
picnic to Lola Valley Park. The
children will meet at the Labor
Zionist Institute at 10:30 a. m.
A special program has been
planned. In case of rain a party
will be held indoors.

AJC President

Morris Gleicher was re-elected
president of the Metropolitan
Chapter, American Jewish Con-
gress.
Installation of officers will be
featured at the next meeting of
the Chapter, at 8:30 p. m. Wed-
nesday, June 15, at the Rose Sit-
tig Cohen auditorium.

for the child will be the subject
of discussion at a meeting of the
Durfee Chapter of Better
Schools Association in the school
auditorium at 8 p. m. Tuesday,
June 14.
The meeting will open with a
talk by Esther Middlewood of
Mental Health Education for the
state of Michigan. The talk will
be followed by the film "Human
Growth".
Miss Middlewood will lead a
discussion after the film. The
public is invited.
