May 17, and Friday, May 20, in
the ballroom of the Detroit-Le-
land. Both luncheons will be at
12:15 p. m.
At the more recent meetings,
the Educational Workers of the
Professional Division met at the
Jewish Center, May 1, to hear
Max Osnos, co-chairman of pre-

Several years ago, as corres-
pondent for the Palestine Post
on tour with the Anglo-Ameri-
can Committee of Inquiry on
Palestine, Hellman was arrested
in Lebanon. The incident was
fully described by Bartley Crum,
in his best seller, "Behind the
Silken Curtain."
Hellman was educated at the
Hebrew University and the
American University in Beiruth.
The program, sponsored by
the Flint Jewish Community
Council, includes, in addition to
the address, the showing of the
motion picture "The Homecom-
ing."
In charge of the program is

the National Jewish Welfare
Board for his tenth term at the
annual meeting of JWB's board
of directors. The board meeting
replaced the annual meeting of
the organization since the JWB
voted to hold its national coun-
cil meeting biennially. The next
biennial meeting will be held in
Cincinnati in May, 1950.
