in show business for 20 years,
and was a member of the Mich-
igan Showmen's Association and

Voice of Israel Holds
Lag B'Omer Program
The theme of the May 15
broadcast of the "New Voice of
Israel" will be based on Lag
b'Omer, which occurs May 17.
Music appropriate to this sea-
son will be featured on this
broadcast, which is a weekly
presentation of station WKMH,
Dearborn. The "New Voice of
Israel Program" is under the di-
rection of Moe Kesner and is
sponsored by J. Young & Sons.
Mrs. Dorothy L. Cross will ap-
pear in behalf of the Women's
Division of the Allied Jewish
Campaign on May 15.
LONDON (JTA) — Announce-
ment was made here of the
death on Sunday of Joseph
Horowitz, a prominent figure in
Anglo-Jewish communal, phil-
anthropic and cultural life. He
wag 63. A gifted pianist, Mr.
Horowitz aided many young
musicians of promise over the
years. He was a director of the
Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

Death Ends Scholarly
Activities, Zionist Work
Of Rev. A. H. Kutnick
Rev. Abraham H. Kutnick. who
died April 27 at the age of 73,
at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. M. Labiner, 2910 Waverly,
was a noted scholar who, al-
though bed-rid-
den by illness in
the last 10 years,
managed to
write 10 vol-
umes of poetry
of a lyric and
philosophic. na-
ture.
He was a Miz-
rachi pioneer
who on his last
birthday on Lag Rev. Kutnick
b'Omer celebrated the comple-
tion of 50 years of service to
the Zionist movement.
He was a shochet and came to
Detroit 28 years ago. He was a
member of the Shochtirn Union,
president of Congregation Bnai
Jacob and was affiliated with
other organizations.
In addition to poetry, he wrote
a volume of commentaries on
the Talmud. He is survived by
two sons, Aaron and Philip;
three daughters, Mrs. D. Dwor-
kin, Mrs. Labiner and Mrs. M.
Fealk; 17 grandchildren, four
great - grandchildren, a sister,
Mrs. A. Cohen, and two brothers,
Sam and Aaron Kutnick.
Rabbis Rabinowitz, Eisenman
and Stollman officiated at his
funeral.
