The ceremony has been ar-
ranged by the Isaac Agree Mem-
orial Society, of which Hoffman
was a member. Rabbis Joshua S.
Sperka and Herman Rosenwas-
ser, and Cantor Hyman Adler
will officiate.
The last few lines in the new
scroll will be inscribed at the
services. The new scroll will then
be brought to the Downtown
Synagogue, 1205 Griswold.
The reception following the
Siyum is being arranged by the
Rachel Agree Memorial Society.
The committee on arrange-
ments includes Rev. Israel Rosin,
chairman, assisted by Julius
Meskin, Nathan Spector and
Morton Rosin.
At the time of his death, on
September 30, 1948, Mr. Hoff-
man had a candy business in
Pontiac, Michigan. A daughter,
Mrs. Nathan Spector, a son,
David Hoffman of Los Angeles,
California, four grandchildren,
and his wife survive.
Mr. Hoffman regularly at-
tended the Shaarey Zedek Syna-
gogue, and was active in Zionist
activities.

ters, and Mrs. Lena Lazar, who
will read the prayer. Mrs. Sara
Silverman is president of the
Dexter Mothers' Club.

will be guests of honor at the
annual Mothers and Daughters
banquet of the T W E L T H
STREET MOTHERS' CLUB
Monday evening, May 16, in the
Wilshire Hotel. Toastmistresss
Anna Libowsky will honor Mrs. '
Carrie Sperling for the Mothers
and Mrs. Joseph Markel for the
daughters. Mrs. Bessie Katchan
will give the invocation. The
program is announced by Mrs.
Rose Yagoda, president of the
club.
Dick Stein's orchestra

provide the music for the
"YOUTH DANCE" to be held
Saturday, May 21, at 8:30 p.
in the main auditorium of the
Jewish Center. The Teen Club
Council of the Center is spon-
soring the dance as its contri-
bution to the Allied Jewish
Campaign.
MR. AND MRS. NATHAN
HACK, longtime Detroiters, who
have been residents of Santa
Monica, Calif., for the past three
years, were honored last week.
Mrs. Hack was elected secretary
of the Crescent Bay Chapter of
Toastmistresses, International,
and her husband was elected as
vice-president of the Toastmas-
ters, International, branch there.
