Arab Refugee Solution Sought
JERUSALEM—JTA—Lt. Col. Moshe Dayan, Israeli
commander of the Jerusalem area, in a press statement, re-
vealed that the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv railroad is entirely in the
hands of the Israelis as a result of the Rhodes armistice
agreement, but warned that the Arab Legion is within gun-
shot range of the road.
T h e armistice commission
solved the problem of "no man's
land" in the Jerusalem area by
dividing the areas between both
forces. He said no agreement
has yet been reached on the
Latrun Road, which still runs
through "no man's land," and
revealed that two strips of "no
man's land" continue to exist
between Ramath Rachel and
Katamon. He also said that the
area surrounding the Govern-
ment House still is in "no man's
land" and may be divided later.
Speaking of the fracas be-
tween Israeli troops and Arab
irregulars in Belt Safa Sunday
night, he said one Jew was kill-
ed and several wounded by ir-
regulars. Dayan added that
