companied by Rosa Bassin
Stein. Mrs. Nathan Jaffe, violin-
ist, will play several selections.
Mrs. Samuel Blacher, presi-
dent of the Sisterhood, urges all
members to plan on attending,

To Present Silver

Friday, May 6, 1949

Harold Silver, director of the
Jewish Social Service Bureau,
will be guest speaker at an Oneg
Shabbat Friday evening. May 6,
at the Sholem Aleichem Insti-
tute, 3754 Monterey.
The Institute will celebrate
the establishment of the Jewish
State at that occasion. Silver
will speak on "One Year of Jew-
ish Statehood." All are invited.
Mrs. Bella Goldberg will con-
duct "Tish Gesang" - and re-
sent. solos in Yiddish and He-

served and a discussion will fol-

Pontiac delegates at the 25th
annual convention of the IVIichi-
gan State Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods in Flint April 25 and
26 were Mesdames Harry Am-
koff, Gerald Walker and Arthur
Rosenthal of Temple Beth Jacob
Ssisterhood.
Accompanying them were
Mrs. Irving Steinman, who was
elected state president, and Mrs.
Herman Dichstein, president of
Beth Jacob Sisterhood. Mrs.
Rosenthal was elected state cor-
responding secretary.

Of the 360 Yemenite children
housed at Beth Lid, a transit
camp near Nathanya, 160 are
suffering from trichophytia, a
serious eye disease. Due to a
severe lack of funds, the Jewish
Agency has on hand only $1,500
to spend for their treatment.
