Zionism Condemned as
Imperialistic Reaction •
By Russian Periodical
MOSCOW, (JTA) — Zionism
was termed "a kind of , bacterial
weapon in the cold war" which
the western powers are allegedly
conducting against the Soviet
Union, in an article published in
the Literary Gazette and entitled
"Traitors of a Nation."
The article criticized cosmopoli-
tanism "whether promoted Under
the guite of pan-American, Ca-
tholicism, Zionism or any other
name." It said that "cosmopolitan-
ism actively serves the interests
of imperialist reaction and •of
American monopolies." It charged
that "an anti-patriotic group of
critics, like Yuzovsky and Hur-
vich, have been making an effort
to infect the crystal springs of
Soviet literature with poisonous
microbes of cosmopolitanism."
Ivan Bolshakov, Soviet Minis-
ter of Cinematography, in an ar-
ticle, in Pravda, today demands
the liquidation of "bourgeoii cos-
mopolitanisrn in the cinema art."
The Minister, said that "the bur-
