Special Israel
Tour Pianned
By Detroiters
The announcement of the U. S.
State Department removing all
restrictions on the issuance of
American passports for travel to
Israel due to the restoration of
peace conditions in that country
was hailed by Albert Schiff, pres-
ident Israel Corporation of
.Ain-rerica, with offices at 425
Fourth Ave., New Yprk, as a
"highly significant moite in boost-
ing a large tourist movement
from this country to the Jewish
State of Israel."
Predicting that the next five
months will see at least 10,000
American tourists—both Jews and
non-Jews—enter Israel by steam-
er and plane, Mr. Schiff, a lead-
ing figure in the councils of the
Zionist Organization of America,
revealed that his group is now
giving consideration to the build-
ing of hotels in the larger cities
of Israel to accommodate the
tourist - influx. He added that
the Israeli Government consid-
ers touring as one of the major
dollar producing industries in
the Jewish State.
Scores of Detroiters are plan-
ning to go to Israel—for Pass-
over, during the summer months
and for the High Holydays.

garding plans being made for
