Plans for the Junior Division
Collection Day to be held on Sun-
day, Jan. 16, call for the partici-
pation of at least 200 volunteer
workers.
The early response to the Proj-
ect indicates that every assign-
ment may be filled. Albert Col-
rnan, chairman of the drive,
stated: "To -assure that every
assignment is covered, we are
urging every member of the Jun-

immediately," Co lrn an said.
"We feel that by personally call-
ing on people, we will make it
more convenient for them to pay
their pledge. Convenience and
urgency is the keynote for this
campaign."
The immediate need for cash
by the many agencies of the
Allied • Jewish Campaign has ne-
cessitated the introduction of this
new plan. So urgent has the need
been that the Jewish Welfare
Federation borrowed $500,000 in
December to make immediate
funds available. The half mil-
lion dollars was borrowed by the
Federation on the strength of
some two million dollars of out-
standing campaign pledges. It is
part of this $500,000 that the Jun-
ior Division will collect on Pay-
Up Day."
Notice announcing that a vol-
unteer will pick up payments on
Jan. 16 will be mailed to con-
tributors in advance of Pay-Up
Day. Payments made to the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign office, 250
W. Lafayette, will reduce the
number of assignments which the
Junior Division volunteer work-
ers will be asked to cover.

Two dispatch centers will be
- set up on Pay-Up Day in the
Dexter and. Northwest sections.
Mr. Colman has appointed Lil-
lian Sobel and Virginia Barnett
as chairmen of the two dispatch
centers. On Sunday morning at
-- 10, the solicitors will meet at
their assigned, dispatch center and
, will at that time receive instruc-
tions and a kit. From there, they
will be sent out to various neigh-
