Nationalist Soldiers Loot
DP's Homes in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, (JTA)—National-
ist soldiers looted homes of dis-
placed persons in this city.
Troops. who were watched by
military police who made no at-
tempt to halt them, first wrecked
a cafe and then broke into prem-
ises where the refugees live and
stole money, clothing and other
valuables.
The fear that a pogrom will
occur in Shanghai in the interval
following the Chinese National-
ists' withdrawal and the restora-
tion of order by the pursuing
armed forces of the Chinese Com-
munists is growing among Jew-
ish refugees.
