Inter-faith Harmony
Winterhalter School
Program Celebrates
Hanukah, Christmas
Winterhalter School established
a new tradition for interfaith ac-
tivities with its combined Hanu-
kah-Christmas program, for stu-
dents and parents, on Tuesday
evening.
Throughout the past two weeks,
children of the Christian faith
were preparing the Christmas
decorations and Jewish children
provided the Hanukah Menorahs
and six-pointed Stars of David
for the settings for classroom and
assembly celebrations.
While Jewish children refrain-
ed from singing the strictly relig-
ious Christmas songs, all children
participated in the _singing of
Hanukah melodies.
Miss Evelyn Booth, principal of
Winterhalter School, has received
commendations for the manner
in which the programs have been
planned to avoid harming the
religious feelings of Christians
and Jews and were instead aimed
at creating a harmonious inter-
faith atmosphere.
