September Bride

Mr. and Mrs. Danny Newman of Chicago were the guests last
week-end of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Shulman
of Webb Ave. Mrs. Newman is the former Dina Halperin, famous
Yiddish actress who played the part of Portia in "Shylock and His
Daughter" and leadinc, roles in outstanding Jewish productions with
the Yiddish Art Theater.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Rubin and daughter, Audrey Sachs, formerly
of Tuxedo Ave., are now residing at 18315 Pennington.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Schreiber and son, Philip, of 2308 Glynn Ct.,
returned from a trip to Washington, D. C., and New York City. They
visited their son, Sam, a pre-medical student at George Washington
University, and their daughter, Ujana, who is a candidate for a
doctor's degree in clinical psychology at Columbia University.
Miss Hilda Cohen of Monterey Ave. returned from Chicago
Where she spent two weeks as the guest of Rose Herscovitz.
Francine Kamin, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Louis E. Kamin of
W. Boston Blvd. entertained 12 friends at a luncheon Oct. 16 on the
occasion of her seventh birthday.
Dr. and Mrs. Louis E. Kamin entertained' four couples Oct. 23
at the first of a series of small home parties.
There will be a social get-together on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 8:30
p.m., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Dresner, 3455 W. Outer Drive,
in celebration of the marriage of their son, Joseph. All Ostrower are
invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lewis of Taylor Ave. had as their guest
Mr. Lewis' mother, Mrs. Bud Howe of Portland, Ore.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving G. Rhodes of Milwaukee, Wis., visited here
last week for a few days With their families and were the house
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sauls of Taylor Ave.
Mrs. Albert Prussin, president of the Denver Chapter of Ha-
dassah, stopped in Detroit to visit with friends while enroute to the
Hadassah convention in Atlantic City, N. J.
The Women's Auxiliary of Jewish War Veterans Lawrence Jones
Post 190 had members of Rafaelson Post as guests for the hospital
party at Dearborn Veterans Hospital on Nov. 4.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Enggass of Cumberland Way are spending
a few weeks in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. John P. Heavenrich have moved from Littlefield
Ave. and are now residing at 1980 Boston Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shroder of Birmingham are spending a week
in New York.
Mrs. Jennie Sampliner of Los Angeles, who is the guest of her
daughter. Miss Selma Sampliner of the Chatham Apts., spent a few
days in Cleveland visiting with members of her family and friends.
Mrs. Benjamin Siegel and her sister, Mrs. Emil Amberg of Bos-
ton Blvd., are spending a few weeks in New York.
Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Lewis of Huntington Woods left for Tucson,
Ariz., Where they plan to make their home.
Mrs. Morris Higer and her sister, Miss Lulu Levi, of Birchcrest
Dr. had as their guests last week-end Mr. and Mrs.' Leonard Lewy
and their son, Tommy, of Chicago; also the Lewys' son, James, who
is attending the University of Michigan, and his fiancee, Miss Flor-
ence K. Wohl of Miami Shores, Fla., and Atlantic Beach, N. Y.
Mrs. Harry L. Jackson of Huntington Woods returned from Chi-
cago where she visited her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs.
Herbert G. Levin.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Landau have moved from Longfellow Ave.
and are now residing at 2955 West Outer Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marwil of LaSalle Blvd. have as their
guests their daughter, Mrs. Robert Morrison and her daughter,
Rosalie, of New York.
Miss Julie Klein and her father, Aaron Klein, of Boston Blvd.
have returned from Cleveland and Lorain, 0., where they visited
with members of their family.
Mrs. Samuel Lieberman of Birchcrest Dr. is planning to leave
this week-end for Waco, Tex., where she will be the guest of her
mother, Mrs. Louis Fred, for a few weeks.
Mr. and .-Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman of Fairfield Ave. have been
visiting her mother, Mrs. Henry Rosenblum of Gladstone, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Morton of Roslyn Rd. returned from a 10-
day stay in New York.
Mrs. J. J. Marks Of West Outer Dr. and Mrs. Mark Alpern of
Mt. Clemens have returned from Chicago, where they spent a few
days visiting with members of their family.
Edward Katz of Burlingame Ave. returned from Yancton, S. D.,
where he visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Katz, and Lin-
coln, Nebr., where he visited his wife's mother, Mrs. Edward Gug-
genheim, and attended the UCLA-Nebraska football game.

man. Rabbi Harold Rosenthal of-
ficiated at the candlelight service
Sept. 26 at the Lee Plaza.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Cherrin of
Northlawn Ave. Her husband is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H.
Koffman of Santa Barbara.
A gown of ivory satin trimmed
with pearl clips was the bride's
choice. She wore a bonnet style
fingertip illusion veil with pearl-
ized orange blossoms, and carried
lillies and white orchids.
Phyllis Cherrin, the bride's sis-
ter, was maid of honor, and Viv-
ian Cherrin and Feannie Lieber-
man were bridesmaids. Marilyn
Cherrin was junior bridesmaid.
Stanford Koffman, the bride-
groom's brother, was best man, -
and David Lieberman and Shel-
don Chatlin were ushers.- Mervin
Cherrin served as ringbearer.
Following a wedding trip, the
couple will make their home at
2751 Rochester.
