Luncheon to Precede
Neugarten Aid Donor

Mrs. Norman K. Noble, presi-
dent of Neugarten Medical Aid,
announces a rally, in the form

catalogue. For quality, continuity
and extent of service, there is
not a woman in Detroit who can
surpass Mrs. Krouse as a social
service volunteer.
In the Women's Division of
the Jewish Welfare Federation,
she recently accepted the trying
post of chairman of collections.
She also serves as a member of
the division's board of directors.
This is one step in a service
history which dates from 1939
in the Allied Jewish Campaign
and includes responsibility as a
division chairman in general so-
licitation in 1947.
Although Mrs. Krouse is active
in a variety of women's organi-
zations, she gives each of her
responsibilities as much fidelity,
organization and energy as she
,might one single concern. Her
activities have included vice
presidency of the Detroit Section
of the National Council of Jew-
ish Women, chairmanship of com-
munity relations for the League
of Jewish Women's Organizations,
and board membership in the
Temple Israel Sisterhood.
Besides taking a leading role
in the Jewish community Mrs.
Krouse has given distinctive
service to the general commu-
nity, working for the past 15
years in the Community Chest,
up to the post of area chairman
and membership on the board of
the women's committee of the
Chest. She also was a faithful
worker in the USO during the
war and has participated in the
Red Cross drives.
• Contrary to the popular con-
ception of the social - service vol-
unteer, as a woman whose house-
hold tasks are accomplished by
means of outside help, Mrs.
Krouse applies the same talent
for organization to her home—
doing all her own work. Her
appearance belies all of the tight
scheduling her many activities
must require, as her distinctive
grooming and gracious manner
make her one of the most active
members of the Federation Wo-
men's Division.
Mrs. Krouse's family includes
two young daughters.
A native Detroiter and a grad-
uate of the University of Mich-
igan, Mrs. Krouse has maintained
close working contact with her
alma mater, as president of the
Alumni Association of Martha
Cook, which provides scholar-
ships at the University for out-
standing co-eds.

tions.
A series of similar events are
planned to precede the Sister-
hood's Dec. 7 major fund-raising
luncheon. Mrs. Dan Otis is chair-
man.

Before an altar of flowers,
ferns and candelabra, at the
Cleveland Hotel Oct. 23, Renee
Gaines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel T. Gaines of Shaker
Heights, 0., became the bride of
Stanford A. Wallace, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Herbert Wallace of
Pennington Dr.
The bride wore a white trans-
parent velvet gown fashioned
with a yoke of Alencon lace and
long train. Her veil, worn by
her grandmother, was of Belgian
lace. She carried a bouquet of
orchids and stephanotis.
Her attendants were Mrs. Earl
Chapman of Chicago, Carol Evans
of New York and Mrs. Leonard
Lane of Cleveland. Marshall
Wallace served his brother as
best man and Arnold Wallace
and Sheldon Kushner were
ushers.
After a honeymoon in Bermuda
the young couple will reside at
16221 Lawton.
The bride is a graduate of Cor-
nell University, where she 'was
affiliated with Sigma Delta Tau
sorority. Her husband is a grad-
uate of the University of Mich-
igan and a member of 'Sigma
Alpha Mu fraternity.
Before her marriage, Mrs. Wal-
lace was entertained on a visit
to Detroit by Mesdames Herbert
Wallace, Rube Rist, Jack Rabi-
nowitz, Joseph Sandler, Louis
Palley, Samuel Epstein and Al
Palley and Mr. and Mrs. Irving
