Juniors Outline
E ducation Series
The Junior Service Group has
scheduled a series of diversified
educational programs .directed to-
- ward the interests and 'needs of
the Detroit Jewish young adult.
Nov. 7, at 2:30 p.m. a 'general
meeting of the JSG will be held
at the Jewish Center. Featured
will be a program entitled "What
Does the Community Expect
from the Jewish Young Adult,"
styled along the Town ' Hall
method. This will -be a sequel to
the JSG's recent jury -trial. which
indicted the adult community for
failing to meet needs of .yOuth.
A different type of edudational
program will begin Nov: 16, to
run for three consecutive weeks.
Mrs. Joseph Leep, chairman of
this program, announces ...that
Irwin Shaw, assistant director of
the Detroit Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, will discuss "Inside
U.S.A.: The Detroit Jewish Com-
munity." The classes will be in-
formal, meeting at hoines.. Those

on marriage and courtship prob-
lems, which. will begin Nov. 2
and continue for four successive

on the social, intellectual, emo-
tional and ethical aspects of
marriage.

Junior Hadassah
Seeks 1,000 Members
A goal of 1,000 members, twice
that of last year's driVe, has been
set in the current membership
campaign of the Detroit chapter
of Junior Hadassah, Shirley
Schubiner, president, announced.
Purpose of the drive is to secure
as many members in the chapter
as there are children at the
Junior Hadassah-supported chil-
dren's village. in Israel, Meier
Shefeyah.

Is Criticized by_ Beigin
Student Artists'
Exhibit at Center
A student artist's exhibition
opened Oct. 27 in. the Ginsburg
Lounge of the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Works whiCh the students
completed in the last semester
of the Center Art School are on
exhibit. They • include charcoal,
water colors and oils. Paintings
on display are by students in
elementary and advanced art
classes, under the direction of
Henry Bernstein and Leon Ma_-
kielski.
The paintings will be on ex-
hibit through Nov. 25. The gal-
lery is open -from 9 a.m.. to 10 p.
m. daily. except Friday evenings
and Saturday. Admission is free.

JOHANNESBURG, So. Africa;
(JTA)—The assurance that Jews
will be admitted into the Nation-
alist Party, which has hitherto
banned they -admission of Jews,
was given by leaders of the party
to J. Nossel, one of the founders
of a Jewish group supporting the
present Nationalist Government.
TEL AVIV (JTA) —Israeli for-
eign policy was sharply criticized
by Menahern Beigen, -leader of
the /Tow dissolved Irgini Zvai
Leumi, at the -first national con-
ference of the new Irgun-spon-
sored Freedom Movement. -
Lashing out at the govern-
ment's foreign policy, the former
Irgun leader accused it of "blun-
dering" on three counts: by ac-
cepting partition and the "con-
version of the Jewish homeland
into a ghetto"; by not preparing
a. sufficient military force to
seize all .of Palestine May 14;
and, by "political blindness" in
relying on an international force
plus an orientation toward the
United NatiOns: "The fact that
the UN itself has disregarded
the partition decision relieves us
of any duty in respect. to , it,"
Beigin declared.
Rejecting any treaty "with Ab-
dullah and Bevin," 'he urged that
the Israeli Government serve ari
ultimatum on the Arab invaders
to withdraw or face a general
offensive by the Jewish forces.
The Israeli Government decid-
ed that 'no terrorist Will be pun-
ished for any crimes committed
prior to the establishment of the
state, if it is found that the ex-
tremist. "now respects law and
order."
