Dr. A. M. Hershman officiated.
Mrs. Arthur Breslow of Sioux
Falls, sister of the bridegroom,
. was Mrs. Pitts' only attendant.
Isadore Pitts served his brother
as best man.
Ushers who seated the guests
were Dr. Gerald Jerome Eder,
brother of the bride; Sidney The-
odore Eder, cousin of the bride,
and Arthur Breslow and - Hyman
Pitts, brother-in-law and brother
of the bridegroom.

Plans Fall Wedding

LEVEY - SOLOMON: Mr. and
Mrs. Donald Harold Levey, whose
marriage ; took place July 3 at
Bel Aire, are htneymooning in
Canada. Mrs. Levey, the former
June Muriel Solomon, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
E. Solomon of Tyler Ave. Her
husband is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Jury Levey of Tyler. Ave.
For her wedding, the bride
chose a gown of ivory satin with
a long veil. She carried an or-
chid on a Bible.
Her attendants were Mrs.
Manuel Noson, , matron-of-honor
and Arlane Mvlison, Bridget
Carroll and Roslyn Viedrah,
bridesmaids. Mel Fine was best
man, and the ushers were How-
ard Passman, George Must and
Robert Newman.

PRENTIS-SMITH: At a cere-
mony Sunday morning, July 11 at
the home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Philip George Smith of W.
Boston Blvd., Dorothy Helen
Smith became the bride of Rich-
ard Samuel Prentis, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph N. Prentis of
Covington Dr. Dr. A. M. Hersh-
man and Rabbi Morris Adler of-
ficiated.
The bride chose a Patullo suit
of beige wool for her wedding.
With it, she wore a champagne
colored hat, and carried a bou-
quet of brown orchids.
'Barb6ra Smith was her sister's
only attendant. David Freeman
served as best man, and Kenneth
Sarason and. Morton Levitt of St.
Louis seated the guests.
After an extended honeymoon
in the East, the young couple will
be at home in Detroit.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Herbert
Shalit of Collingwood Ave. an-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Leona Vera, to Dr.
Sidney Philip Shear of Los
Angeles, Calif., son of Mrs. Philip

troit. An early fall wedding is
planned.

ROBINSON-RICHIE: The mar-
riage of Shirley Jean Richie,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
J. Richie, and Berol Lee Robin-
son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Robinson, was solemnized July
27 at Shaarey Zedek.

Joshua Sperka and Cantor Jacob
H. Sonenklar officiated. A re-
ception followed the ceremony.
The newlyweds are now on an
extended motor trip to the west
coast. They will make their
home in Baltimore, where the
bridegroom will continue his
studies at Johns Hopkins Uni-
versity. .

Country Day Camp

Party Proceeds Provide
Medical, Linen Supplies

A day camp in the country, for
boys and girls aged 51/2 to 11
years, is to be opened Aug. 2, un-
der the direction
of Dr. W. A.
Goldberg, coun-
selor on personal
problems.
The camp will
operate Monday
through Friday,
under the direc-
tor and experi-
e n c e d counsel-
lors. The pro-
g r a in includes Dr. Golberg
outdoor at h 1 e tic s, swimming,
dramatics, game s, dramatics,
hikes. Safe transportation will be
provided to pick up the campers
near their homes and to return
them to the same point just be-
fore the evening dinner hour.
The sessions will continue for
five weeks from Aug. 2 through
Sept. 3. Enrollment is limited to
35 boys and girls mature enough
to participate in a group camp
program.

After Bermuda Honeymoon

A shipment of emergency
medical supplies were sent. to
Israel through Hadassah, with
proceeds of an evening of games
sponsored by the following wo-
men: Mesdames Louis Kepes,
Maurice Riegler, Richard Kline,
Sam Berkowitz, Abe Miller, Sam
Feldman and Manuel Engels.
Mrs. Morris Sklar gave her
home for: a garden party and
luncheon, at which the ticket of
admission was a gift of linens
for Israel. She was assisted by
her daughters, Mesdames Sander
Hillman, Charles Jacobs and
Henry Brontman, and Mesdames
J. A. Liebson, Sam Munch and
Sam Stockwell.
Mrs. William Nelson, 2750
Webb, and her daughter, Mrs.
Philip Stellar, are still accepting
clothes and like merchandise for
Israel, which they ship through
Hadassah in New York.

gown of marquisette the fitted
bodice of which was fashioned
with cap sleeveS and a Bertha
collar finished the drop shoulder
effect. Her fingertip veil of illu-
sion fell from a matching bonnet
adorned with a cluster of orange
blossoms. She carried a bouquet
of white roses.
Virginia Louise Barnett was
her cousin's maid of honor, and
the bridesmaids included Margo
Jacobson, the bride's sister, their
cousins, Nancy and Jill Albert of
Grand. Rapids, and Rhoda Le-
Vine.
Irving Tannenbaum served his
brother as best man and their
brother, Bernard Tannenbaum,
Lee Albert of Grand Rapids, Ar-
nold Colvin and Richard Barnett
seated the guests. •
Besides the bridegroom's
mother and members of the
bridal party, out of town guests
included Irving Starr of New
York, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Al-
bert, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Albert,
Harold Albert of Grand Rapids,
and Mrs. Irving Tevelof and her
son Robert of Boston.
The young couple are honey-
mooning in Greenwich,. Conn.,
and upon their return will for
the present make their home in
Lansing, where both will resume
their studies at Michigan State
College.

WEINSTEIN-SOLOMON: Mr.
and Mrs. Irving Solomon of Mil-
waukee announce the marriage
of their daughter, Harriet Edith,
to Dr. Stanley Dean Weinstein
of Chicago, son of Mrs. Samuel
Weinstein of Beaumont, Tex.,
(formerly of Detroit) and the
late Mr. Weinstein in Chicago,
on July 9.

Detroiter Weds Israeli
Woman Flier in Tel Aviv

Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Levy
of Glendale Ave. have received
the announcement of the mar-
riage of their son, Bob, to Mar-
garet Baron of Helsinki, Finland.
The wedding took place July 4
in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The newlyweds both serve
with the Israeli Air Force. A
Canadian pilot was the best man,
and the bride was given in mar-
riage by a Czech Jewish squad..

Air Corps Cadet, later seeing
service in the South Pacific with
the Merchant Marine.

Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Price of
