Obituaries
ISRAEL PILTZ, 3903 Somerset
Drive, died June 29. Services
were held at Kaufman Chapel
with Rabbi Adler officiating. • He
leaves his wife, Sarah; one son,
Albert; two daughters, Mrs. Sam
Wesley and Mrs. Hyman Adler
of Los Angeles; one brother and
two sisters, all of Toronto. Inter-
ment was in Ostrovtzer Ceme-
tery.

ELAINE DRESNER, 43, of 3222
Richton, died July 5. Rabbi Josh-
ua Sperka and Cantor Hyman
Adler- conducted funeral services
at Lewis Bros. Burial was at
Bnai David Cemetery. She is
survived by her husband, Dave;
a daughter, Nancy; her mother,
Anna Netinsky; sisters, Mrs. Nor-
man Cohen, Mrs. Harold Bron-
stein and Mrs. Jack Leeds, and
a brother, Irwin Netinsky.

MRS. DORA BLUMENTHAL,
78, a native of New York who
lived in Detroit 40 years, died
July 2. Funeral services were
held at Kaufman Chapel Sunday.
Burial was in Clover Hill Ceme-
tery. Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Hanna Roberts, and two
sons, Adolph and Isadore.

NATHAN SCHNEIDER, 55, of
15348 Linwood, died Saturday.
Funeral services were held Sun-
day at Chesed shel Emes. Sur-
viving are his wife, Gertrude;
five daughters, Mrs. Mary Sachs,
Mrs. Jean Levey, Mrs. Gertrude
Fishman, Bessie and Belle; three
brothers and two sisters.

HENRY WEINBAUM, 77, of
2255 Hazelwood, died July 1.
,Funeral services . were held at
Hebrew Benevolent Society, with
interment at Beth Tefilah Ceme-
tery. Rabbis Eisenman, Wohlge-
lernter, Rein and Stollman offi-
ciated. He •is survived by his
widow, Dina; sons, Maurice, Dan-
iel, Theodore and Harry, a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Fannie Goren; 14
grandchildren, and two great-
grandchildren.

Dexter, died July 2. Services
were held at Kaufman Chapel
with Rabbi Wohlgelernter and
Cantor Adler officiating. He
leaves his wife, Ida; two sons,
Harold and Milton; three daugh-
ters, Jeanette, Mrs. Harry Glass-
man, and Mrs. Abraham Selick.
Interment was in Independent
Detroit Lodge Cemetery.

Stepel, died July 2. Funeral
services were held at Chesed
shel Emes Sunday. Surviving
are his wife, Annie; two sons,
Benjamin and Isadore; a sister:
Mrs. Ida Gaum of Sydney, Nova
Scotia, and two grandchildren.

died . July 3. SerVices were held

ciating. He leaves his wife, So-

Calvin
Society for Pvts. Calvin and
Stanley Elson, who died in ac-
tion in Belgium.
Calvin was- 21 when he was
killed Jan. 6, 1945. His brother
Stanley was 25 at the time of his
death, June 6, 1944.
Bakers by trade, they had been
brought to this country with a
sister, in 1937, by their brothers,
Meyer and Benjamin. They made
their home with their uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lif-
shitz of 3321 Cortland.
Rabbis Morris Adler and Gold-
man officiated at the funeral
services, assisted bj representa-
tives of the Jewish–War Veterans
and the Calvin and Stanley El-
son post of the American Legion.
Burial was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.
