Adele . Muriel Polarisky graduated June 4 from the Juilliard
8`Chool of Music, where she majored in piano. Dr. Sanford Polansky
received his doctor's degree in medicine June 17 from Wayne Uni-
versity College of Medicine. He will begin his internship July 1 at
Woman's Hospital. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Polansky,
will be at home Sunday, June 20, to relatives and friends, in honor
of the two graduations. No cards.
Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Art of 3815 Cortland have returned from a
three-month vacation in Miami Beach, New Orleans and Shreveport,
La., where they visited - their children, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Art and
granddaughter, Maxine.
- Mrs. Tillye Bell of Los Angeles is visiting here with her children,
the -Murray Kahns and the Larry Covilles, and her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Elkind (Betty Glass) of San Francisco are
visiting Mrs. Elkind's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Glass of 3207
Blaine. The Elkinds have made their home on the west coast since
their marriage in March, 1947. Mr. Elkind is associated with a San
Francisco radio station.
Bride-elect Lucy Sucher was honored at pre-nuptial events by
the following: Mesdames -Ernest Schwartz. Harold Sucher, Donald
Sucher, William Sucher, Ben Sucher, Harry Sucher, Max Sucher,
Jean Rist, Carl Lander, Harry Galperin, Bernard Cohen, Gerald
Sucher, Lewis Zuieback and Saul Zuieback and Misses Violet Roth
and Toby Langer.
Dorothy Shekter, of 2427 Calvert, daughter of Sam Shekter and
Betty S. Shekter, was graduated June 12 from the University of
Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wolfgang will be honored at a reception
on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Barach of Webb Ave. announce the grad-
uation of their son, Albert, from Wayne University College of Edu-
cation June 17.
Mrs. Abe Leemon (Dorothy Rapp) of Elsinore, - Calif., and her
aunt, Mrs. Esther Hoffman of Los Angeles, have returned to De-
troit to attend the graduation of their brother and nephew, Seymour
L. Rapp, son of Mrs. Sarah Rapp, who received the degree of doctor
of - medicine from Wayne University Thursday evening. Mrs. Rapp
will hold a reception in her son's honor Sunday, June 20, at their
home, 2751 Tuxedo.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Morris of Burlingame have as their guests
Mrs. Morris' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nate Rosenbaum of Youngstown,
Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Brodie of Chicago Blvd., left Tuesday for
Evanston, Ill., to attend the graduation of their daughter, Madeleine,
fropx Northwestern University.
Miss. Edith Heavenrich of Trowbridge Ave. is the guest of the
Andrew Winemans at their lodge in Gaylord, Mich.
Mrs. Isaac Gilbert is leaving this Friday for Charlevoix, where
she plans to spend the summer.
Dr. and Mit. Herbert Kallet of Muirland Ave. have as their
guest his sister, Miss E. M. Kallet of Syracuse, N. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laib of Burlington Rd. have returned from
a stay at White Sulphur Springs, Va.
Mrs. Stanley Fleischaker of West Eight Mile Rd. has returned
from Pittsburgh, where she attended the high school commence-
ment of her niece, Mary Einstein.
The Misses Henrietta and Setta. Robinson of Calvert Ave. have
left to spend a month in California.
Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield of the Belcrest had as her guest Mrs.
G. A. Lehman. of New." York.
Mrs. Edwin M. Rosenthal has returned to her home in Holly-
wood, Fla.,

Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur Sarason had as their guests last week,
on the occasion of the confirmation of their son, Donald, her sister,
Mrs: William Nelson, and their brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Fadem and son, Richard, of St. Louis, Mo.

Full Program of Social, Workshop
Activities Set for BBYO Meeting Here

Delegates from the United
States and Canada will assemble
at the Tuller Hotel, July 4
through 7, for the third annual
national convention of the Bnai
Brith Young Men and Women.
The Detroit convention com-
mittee is headed by Harry Mirvis
and Charlotte Waterstone, as-
sisted by Michigan Region direc-
tors Tess Weiss and Chuck Levy.
Friday night, July 2, at Bnai
Moshe synagogue, supplemen-
tary Sabbath services will be
held for all delegates and guests,
led by Dave Rappaport. An Oneg
Shabbat will be held in the social
hall, supervised by Marcia
Drucker. Highlights of the serv-
ice will be the Rex 11 BBYM
choir, and the sermon, to be
delivered by Harry Mirvis.
Saturday afternoon, a tour to
Greenfield Villa g"e is being
planned by Joyce Seedburg.'Sat-
urday evening the group wlil
have a weinie roast and outing.
which will include dancing, com-
munity singing and games.
Sunday night is the opening
dance of the convention, featur-
ing Iry Fields and his orchestra.
"Club Chez la Roix" will be pre-
sented by Rex BBYM. Joe Burk
will be in charge of entertain-
ment for the evening.
Highlights of the convention

will be workshops on social
action and Palestine, program-
ming, leadership and member-
ship. A national project will be
adopted by the BBYM and YW.
Last year the BBYW nationally
sent articles of creative value to
displaced orphans in a home in
France; BBYM sent religious
articles and kits to tie in with
the project.
Tuesday evening, a program is
being planned by Harriet Noch-
man for all delegates and guests.
Snack will be served by the De-
troit hospitality committee,
headed by Madeline Belkin.
The Detroit convention com-
mittee will issue a bulletin daily
to all delegates, informing them
of the activities of the conven-
tion. Louise Kallus will edit it.
Among the national dignitaries
who will be present at the con-
vention will be Rabbi Am•am
Prero, national director of BB-
YO; Victor Perlmutter, national
director of administration for
BBYO, and Manheim Shapiro,
national program director of
BBYO.
Helene Fishbein, national presi-
dent of BBYW, and Cy Cohen,
national president of BBYM, will
lead the activities for the week-
end.
