AJC Sends Wire Urging
Defeat of Mundt Bill

Albert J. Silber, president of
the Detroit American Jewish Con-
gress, in telegrams to Michigan
members of the House of Repre-
sentatives urged defeat of The
Mundt Bill.
Silber declared in his wire: "In
its attempt to protect American
democracy, the proposed bill vio-
lates most of the fundamental
principles on which oUr democ-
racy rests. It disregards the basic
principle that guilt is personal
and deprives American citizens of
equal rights solely because of
their opinions."
