Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Young, formerly of 2957 Leslie, will be in
Miami Beach until after Passover.
William Goodman of the Wilshire Hotel has returned from a
two-week vacation in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert A. Frishman of 18000 Indiana Ave. are in
Miami Beach for a five weeks' vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Levitt honored their daughter, Shola, on her
16th birthday, with a dinner dance for 15 couples at Latin Quarters.
Mrs. Elizabeth W. Shapero, president of Michigan Department
of the Jewish War Veterans Ladies' Auxiliary, accompanied by
Birdie Rosenberg, department chief of staff, returned from an
official visit to the Lt. Eli Rosenblum J.W.V. auxiliary of Flint.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry J. Greenblatt and daughter, Fayanne, of
Fairfield Ave., have returned from a five-week vacation in Miami
Beach. Enroute home they visited in Baltimore and Washington.
Mrs. Harold Eidelman and her mother, Mrs. Leah Rose, sailed
March 20 on the Queen Mary for Southampton, England, where
they will visit with relatives for a few months. In their hOnor a
farewell luncheon was given at the Club Bali March 16.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Morrison and son, Lawrence, of Buffalo
were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. Newman of Oakman Blvd.
Patt Levinson will spend her spring vacation from the University
of Missouri with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Levinson_of 17565
Stoepel.
Mrs. Sally Brown of the Lee. Crest Apts. is spending a week in
Boston visiting with her Children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Heavenrich,
and Mary BroWn..
Bill Hass is spending his spring vacation from Kenyon College,
Gambier, 0., with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Hass of
La Salle Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nover (Evelyn Agree) and sons have moved
into their new home on Vernon Avenue, Huntington Woods.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Berman of Burlingame Ave. returned from
Arizona and California.
Mrs. M. H. Zackheim returned from a visit with her children,
Dr. and Mrs. Hershell Zackheim, in Santa Monica, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Elliman of Briggs Hotel returned from an
extended visit in Los Angeles.
Dr. and Mrs. Morris Rand of Highland Ave. spent a few weeks
in Palm Springs, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Isidore Goldberg of Fairfield Ave. have returned
from a trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles in celebration of their
25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Zuckerman of LaSalle Blvd. honored Mr. and
Mrs. S. Pozen, who are moving to Florida, at a cocktail and supper
Party.
Richard Barnett, son of Dr. and Mrs. Louis L. Barnett of 16171
Normandy, will spend his vacation from the Eastman School of
Music with his parents.
Mrs. Charles Beecher returned to her home in Brooklyn after a

monides Medical Society will
be a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Sat-
urday at Huyler's. Mrs. David

will be guest speaker.

"A Night in Tel Aviv" will be
the theme of the 21st annual
soiree of the Detroit Music Study
Club, Mrs. I. Mendelson, president
announces.
The program will be held at
8:30 p. m. Tuesday, March 30, at
the social hall of the YWCA,
Montcalm and Witherell. It will
be dedicated to the memory of
Bronislow Huberman, renowned
violinist, who founded the Pales-
tine Symphony.
The cosmopolitan music pre-
sented-in Tel Aviv will be offered
by Marguerite Kozenn, soprano,
accompanied by Julius Chajes;
Reva Reatha Jackson, harpist;
Maryan Fleisher, pianist; the
Tosha Munstock dance ggroup,
and the Music Study Club choral
group, directed by Dan Frohman
and accompanied by Rosa Bassin
Stein.
Zelda Landsman is author- of
the script and Mrs. Walter Fields
will be narrator. Mrs. J. Sauls
will be chairman.
Hostesses for the soiree will

Q. Kesler, A. J. Seltzer, M. Ben-

Vincent J. McGovern, president
of the New Haven Central Labor
Council, made public a letter
' assailing President Charles Sey-
- • mour of Yale University for his
opposition to proposed state legis-
lation prohibiting racial and reli-
gious discrimination by colleges
in the admission of students.

The Joint Distribution Commit-
te announces that expenditures
for its relief, reconstruction and
resettlement operations in March
will total $6,244,400.
This raises to $19,215,650 the
agency allocations thus far this
year for aid to almost 1,000,000
Jewish men, women and children
in Europe, North Africa, the Near
East and the Orient.

Program on Tuesday

The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools invites
members and friends to the Pu-
rim fete next Tuesday, 1 p. m., at
the Rose Sittig Cohen Bldg. All
are invited to the program and
dessert luncheon.
Purim numbers will feature this
`Shalach Monoth' program of the
children of the United Hebrew
Schools. The following pupils
will participate: Pre-school class
of David W. Simons School with
Mrs. Leah Iskowitz in charge, the
chairman of the program, Sheila
Pudovick, a pupil of the David
W. Simons School; Eva Tennen-

At a beautifully appointed
wedding ceremony Feb. 8 at Con-
gregation Bnai David, Jacqueline
Wittcoff, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Wittcoff of Buena
Vista Ave., spoke her nuptial
vows to Norman Halberg, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Halberg
of Glynn Ct.
The bride chose a gown of
candlelight slipper satin fashioned
with a fitted bodice. The imported
lace yoke had an off-the-shoulder
effect. The skirt extended to a
cathedral length train and her
fingertip veil of illusion was at-
tached to a tiara of matching sa-
tin. She carried a Bible adorned
with white orchids.
The matron-of-honor was Mrs.
I. Wittcoff, sister-in-law of the
bride. Sydell Halberg, the bride-
groom's sister was maid of honor.
The bridesmaids were Helene
Tamaroff, Bernice Abugow, Lois
Witt, of Chicago, and Shirley Hy-
man. Helaine Moltz was junior
bridesmaid.
Iry Wittcoff, brother of the
bride was best,' man, and the ush-
ers were Iry Caplan, Bernie Ad-
ler, Lou Goodman, and Leonard
Hyman. Gary Goldman was
junior usher.
Out-of-town guests were here
for the wedding from Toronto,
Chicago, St. Louis, and Windsor.
The newlyweds motored to Mia-
mi Beach, and are now residing
on Buena Vista Ave.
