Milford, one sister, Mrs. Morris

Death Ends Satovsky's
ACtivities in Community

Harry Satovsky, a leader in
congregational and fraternal ac-
tivities in the Detroit Jewish
community, died Feb. 23 in Mi-
ami. He would have been 52 on
Feb. 26.
A veteran building contractor,
he was a member of Perfection
Lodge, F. and A. M., the Shrine,
the Elks, Bnai Brith, Zionist Or-
ganization of America and the
United Hebrew Schools. He was
a trustee of •haarey.Zedek, active
in the Shaarey Zedek Men's Club,
and on the board of the Temple
Beth El Men's Club. During the
war he served on the Detroit
Rationing Board. A l t h o u g -h
stricken with a heart ailment a
year ago, Satovsky refused to
curtail his community activities
because of his illness.
Funeral services were held at
the Ira Kaufman Chapel, with
Rabbi Morris Adler, Dr. A. M.
Hershman and Cantor Adler of-
ficiating. Interment was at Clover
Hill Park.
He is -survived by his wife,
Mildred; one son, Stanley; one
daughter, Joann; his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Max Satovsky, and one
sister, Mrs. Samuel Rubin. His
residence was at 2074 Hazelwood.

vived by three daughters, Gert-
rude, Mrs. Morton Kasoff and
Mrs. Joe Scheck; a brother,
Harry, of Brooklyn, and three
grandchildren.

who resided in Jerusalem, died
Feb. 21. Funeral services were
conducted by Rabbi Thumin at
Lewis Bros. Memorial Chapel
Burial " was at Beth Abraham
Cemetery. He is survived by his
wife, Sarah; sons, Bernard of Pal-
estine, Leon of Boston and Mur-
ray of New York City; a brother,
Jacob, and sisters, Mrs. Harry
Barnett, Mrs. Ben Gottloeb and
Mrs. Jack Ellstein.

MRS. LENA MORRIS of 2233
Gladstone, who was born in
Latvia 78 years ago and came
to Detroit 35 years ago, died
Monday. Funeral services were
held at Kaufman Chapel Tues-
day. Burial was in Machpelah
Cemetery. Surviving are her
sons, Kaman and Nathan; daugh-
ters, Hattie, Mrs. Dorothy Chat-
lin and Mrs. Alexander Weiner;
four grandchildren, a brother
and two sisters.

Winner' of the Golden Gloves

month by virtue of three consecu-
tive knockouts, Kohn, who has
been dubbed "Young Samson" by
ring circles, entered the U. S.
with the help of the JDC last
September under the regular
quota. Since arriving here with
his younger brother, Al's rise in
fistianic circles has been me-
teoric.
