Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Israel of MEV Orleans, La., were guests
last week at Dearborn Inn while visiting with friends. Mrs. Israel
participated in the National Women's Golf Tournament at Franklin
Hills Country Club.
Don Kelter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kelter of Cherrylawn
Ave. has left for Lenox, Mass., where he will attend the Windsor
Mountain School.
Samuel Pollack of Byron Ave. has returned from Erie, Pa.,
where he spent a few days visiting with his son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pollack.
Allan Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gilbert of Fairfield
Ave., left on Thursday for New York where he will enter the Kohut
School.
Harry Michelson was the house guest of his aunt, Mrs. S. B.
Kahn of Waverly Ave., for a few days last week, while visiting
with members of his family.
Donald Freeman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Freeman of
Wellesley Dr., left on Monday for Cambridge, Mass., where he will
matriculate at Harvard College.
Harriet Hope Mellon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Mellon of
Calvert Ave. is leaving this Saturday for Ormond Beach, Fla., where
she will attend Casements School.
Before her marriage to Dr. Nathan Rubin Sept. 7, Elinor Ruth
Schiff was entertained extensively at a series of parties by the follow-
ing:_ Mesdames Milton Maddin, Casper Cutler, Irving Wartell, Ben
Krell, Sam Silver, Max Winslow, Sam Blacher, George Bremen,
Emory Stein, Arthur Miller, Samuel Gale, Samuel Lewis, Lou
Blume, Nathan Weingarden, Isadore Sklover, Morris Schiff, Jack
Schiff, Herman Kanter, Abe Schmier, Moe Leiter, Harry Pliskow,
Charles Aller, Saul Benyas, Al Koffman, George Jackson, Claude
Grasgreen, Charles Goldstein, Edward Krause, Nathan Milstein and
Harry Rubin, and Miss Reva Kolodney.
Mrs. M. Goldoftas of Hazelwood Ave. left for Palestine on Mon-
day for a visit with her mother and family.
Jack Kape, who is completing his law studies at the University
of Miami, is spending the High Holy Days with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Kape of 2917 Hazelwood. He will return to Miami Oct. 1.
Bill Hass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Hass of LaSalle Blvd.,
has returned home after spending the summer in Hollywood, Calif.,
where he was employed in the photographic department of Uni-
versal-International Studios. On Oct. 1 he will leave to resume his
studies at Kenyon College, Gambier, 0.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Levy of Tyler Ave. entertained in honor of
the third birthday of their daughter, Donna Lynn, at a gathering for
her little friends and at an evening event for the family.
Miss Anna Katz has taken a position in New York and will be
leaving shortly. She will be at home to her friends on the evening
of Sept. 24.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edelman and family, formerly of Duane
Ave., ave moved to their new home at 3039 Collingwood Ave.
s. Ruth Elbinger of 9688 N. Martindale left by plane for

Rodeo, Calif., to join her husband, who is stationed at Camp Stone-
man. She was accompanied by her son, Lewis Keith, and her mother,
Mrs. Rae Salomon. Mrs. Salomon will continue to Los Angeles where
she will vacation with friends.

'Jolly Bachelors' Oct. 5

A group of outstanding Jewish
entertainers will present a single
performance of "The J o 11 y
Bachelors" (Freiliche Bochurim)
Sunday evening, Oct. 5, at Ma-
sonic Temple.
The play, starring Aaron Le-
bedeff and Michael Michalesko,
is being brought to Detroit by
Abraham Littman, formerly di-
rector of the Yiddish Theatre in
Detroit, who now makes his home
in New York.
Written by William Siegel, the
production will include 15 music-
al numbers especially composed
for it by Sholem Secunda. The
supporting cast includes Jacob
Zanger, Paula Rubelsky, Vera
Luboff, Hyman Levine, Stella
Shulman, Clara Kaplan, Sam
