will begin .the season's activities
with an open meeting and social
at 8 p. m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the
synagogue, Curtis' at Santa Rosa.
Danny Standler, newly-elected
president, will outline the activi-
ties for the coming year. On the
schedule are meetings on the first'
Tuesday of . every month, as. well:

,. social affairs on Sunday eve-
nmgs.
One of the -first events will be-

ning, Oct. , g6. George Lipshaw
and Frances Freedman have been
appointed chairmen for the dance.
Tickets are $1 per person. Mem-
bership; in the club is open to
young men and women 18 to 30.

are rallying to the call of Yes-
hivath Beth Yehudah for funds
to clear a deficit of $72,000 ac-
cumulated in the course of the
last five and one-half years, ac-
cording to Rabbi H. J. Wohlgel-
ernter, president..
While most synagogues will ap-
peal to their worshippers during
Yom Kippur services for $32
contributions (numerically equiv-
alent to the Hebrew "lev" for
heart) to ' help liquidate the
Yeshivah indebtedness, the fol-
lowing congregations c on du c t-
ed direct appeals during Rosh
Hashanah: Attires Zvi, Beth
Moses, Bnai Jacob, Bnai Israel,
Mogen Abraham, Nusach Harie,
Shaarey Shomaim • and Young Is-
rael (Northwest Branch).

out that more than half ' of the
deficit is borne. by members of
the teaching staff of the Yes-

Four months of Yeshivah activ-
ities will be reviewed by the
board at a meeting Wednesday
evening, Oct 1, which will be
followed by a reception in the
Yeshivah Sukkah, built by ad-
vanced students. -
The Yeshivah office at Dexter
and Cortland will be open until
1 p. _ m. Sunday, erev Sukko,
and all day Wednesday, Thurs-
day and Friday, Oct. 1, 2 and 3
for further registration of new
