Detroit Artists Give
Concerts in Europe
A series of radio broadcasts and
personal appearances are being
made in Europe by Detroiters
Marguerite Kozenn, soprano, and
Julius JChajes, composer-pianist,
this month.
Broadcasts featuring Anierican
music and Chajes' original com-
positions and arrangements were
presented over Radio Vienna Aug.
5 and 7. While in Vienna, Chajes
and Miss Kozenn entertained at
the Rothschild Hospital, the lar-
gest DP camp in Austria.
Other concerts were scheduled
ever radio Bratislava and in Pra-
gue.

Of World Congress
The World Congress for Jewish
Culture which expects to con-
vene in February, 1948, is called
by the Jewish Labor Committee,
Workmen's Circle, Jewish Na-
tional Workers' Alliance, Labor
Zionist Committee for Relief and
Rehabilitation, J. L. P e r e t z
Writers' Union, Yiddish Pen
Club, Central Yiddish Cultural
Organization ("Cyco), and the
Zukunft Publishing Association.
The organization committee
sees' as its main task "to unite
and mobilize our entire energy
and all our creative forces for
the revival of the Jewish culture
in all parts of the world."
The Committe was also charged
to augment the position of Jew-
ish schools in the Yiddish lang-
uage; to enrich the Jewish
schools with new text and read-
ing books as well as to provide
them with teachers and educa-
tors, and to extend cultural aid
to the Jews in the devastated
lands and the camps where there
is need for Jewish education.

For Polish Woman
Mrs. Dora Rosen, Lodz, Poland,
is seeking information about her
uncle, Charles Rubin (formerly
known as Szaj a Rabinowicz). Mrs..
Rosen is the daughter of Moishe
Rabinowicz, his brother. Mr. Ru-
bih was born in Krinki, Poland,
about - 1870. His parents were
Samul and Dwojra Rabinowicz.
He was unmarried, and died in
D.-2troit between 1930 and 1932.
He was the owner of several
hotels in Detroit. Anyone with
knowledge of Mr. Rubin please

World Students Council
Asks Jews, Arabs To Unite
PRAGUE, (JTA)—A resolution
calling on Arab and Jewish stu-
dents in Palestine to unite and
pledging full support if they do
so, was adopted here at a meet-
ing of the International Students
Council. The Council also pro-
tested the suppression by British
authorities of academic freedom
in Palestine.
