ANTWERP, Belgium—After a
brief training period at Camp
Kiwanis, Ill., the scouts from
Region Seven (including Detroit)
arrived at the beautiful city of
Washington. There we visited
points of interest including the
Capitol, the White House, Mount
Vernon, and the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier.
That evening, we came to
Camp Kilmer, N. J., an army
camp. The facilities were excel-
lent and the personnel very co-
operative. Boys from all over
the country were gathered here.
One might hear any song, from
"The Eyes of Texas are Upon
You" to "On Wisconsin." About
50 Jewish Scouts were present.
On June 22 we made a brief
tour of New York, , during which
we Detroit boys ate at the Auto-
mat.
Two days later we embarked
for Antwerp aboard the General
C. H. Muir, a troop transport
loaned to us by the government.
