Mr. and Mrs. William Hordes of 2308 Calvert will be at home on
Wednesday evening, Aug. 6, in honor of their son, Herbert J., who
will leave on Aug. 13 from New York for Haifa, Palestine, to enroll
as a student in the Hebrew Institute of Technology.
Mrs. Leo Weisman and daughter, Bernice, of Buena Vista Ave.
have returned from a few weeks' visit in Northern Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred W. Payson and son, Anthony, and Herman
Lieberman, all of Chicago Blvd., have returned from a fortnight's
visit in Grand Haven, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Max D. Schuster of Pennington Dr. are spending.
the week-end with their children, Janet, Judy and Jimmy, who are
at camp at Eagle River, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Baer Keidan and family of Santa Barbara Dr. are
spending the summer in Frankfort, Mich.
Merilyn Lightstone, bride-elect, was honored at a bridge lunch-
eon given by Eveleen Budnitzky July 26 at her home on Webb Ave.
Mrs. Elsie Hart and her children, Janice and Ronald, and Mrs.
Samuel Goldberger have returned from a week's vacation at Green-
bush Inn.
Mr. and Mrs. David W. Arfa, her son, Jack, and nephew, Donald
Fox, are vacationing at Lesser's Lodge in Omena, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Mason and daughter, • Lynne, formerly of
Sturtevant Ave., are now residing in their new home at 18079 Ilene.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Fenton of Oak Dr. have returned from
Bretton Woods, N. H., where they were guests at the Mt. Washing-
ton Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gurovsky and son of Richton Ave. have
returned' from a month's vacation at Lake Leelanau near Traverse
City. They had as their guests for a week Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bayer
of Lauder, Ave.
Marbel Denen,burg of Central Ave. is spending a month's vaca-
tion in Mexico.
Rabbi and Mrs. I. Stollman announce the Bar Mitzvath of their .
son, Bernard David, on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Congregation Mishkan
Israel, Blaine at Linwood. Open house Sunday, Aug. 10, 2 to 4 and
8 to 10 p. m., at 8624 LaSalle Blvd.
Miss Fay Stollman, graduate student at Columbia University,
is spending the summer with her parents, Rabbi and Mrs. I. Stoll-
man of LaSalle Blvd. She will resume her studies in the fall.
Mrs. Seymour Spira, Mrs. Lester Small and Samuel Sheplow
have returned from a week-end at Omena Inn, Omena, Mich., where
they were the guests of Ruth Soifer. While visiting there, they starred
in a three-act farce titled "Spring Song," especially prepared for the
occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Fleischaker of Louisville, Ky., are visting
their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fleischaker Of
West Eight Mile Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rosenthal, Jr. of Parkside Ave. have re-
turned from Northern Michigan where they visited their sons, Ed-
ward III and Richard, who are at North Star Camp.
Dr. Willard Mayer of Boston Blvd. will leave on Saturday for
Charlevoix to join his daughter, Rosalie.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo I. Franklin and their son, John, of Muirland
Ave. are leaving this Friday for Charlevoix where they will be•the
guests of her sister, Mrs. Victor W. Klein.
Mrs. Ethel Loeb of Memphis, Tenn., spent a few days in Detroit
visiting with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar A. Kaufman and their son, Seldon, of Strath-
cona Dr. are leaving this Friday for a stay in Frankfort.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kelter of Cherrylawn Ave. are vacation-
ing in Charlevoix.
Robert Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Becker of Strathcona
Dr., left last week for a camp at Rackett Lake, N. Y.

Miss Zelma Rosenthal returned to Patterson, N. J., on Monday
after a month's visit with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and

FRANK-MARGOLIS. At six

July 31, the Statler Hotel was
the scene of a beautifully ap-
pointed wedding when Carole
Margolis, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lester D. Margolis of Mc-
Lean Ave., became the bride of
Henry B. Frank, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis C. Frank of Colorado
Ave. Rabbi Hillel Fine of Boston
officiated at the ceremony.
The bride was lovely in her
traditional gown of ivory satin
with its fitted bodice fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline edged
with heirloom rosepointe lace
and long pointed sleeves. The
hooped skirt was very full and
extended into a court train. Her
fingertip veil of illusion fell from
'bonnet of matching lace, and
she carried a bouquet of white
orchids and stephanotis.
Mrs. Robert Smith, the bride-
groom's sister, was the matron
of honor. The bridesmaids were
Joan Aronson and Barbara Mey-
ers of Indianapolis, Nancy Miller
of New York and Jean Feerer.
Luis Levy was the junior brides-
maid.
Robert Frank served his broth-
er as best man and the ushers
included Harry Frank, Lewis C.
Frank Jr., Whitney Roemer and
Robert Smith.

the bride of Karl Greenberg, son

Riviera Hall. Rabbi Joshua Sper-

The young couple spent their

rector of the research institute at
Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago,
will be the featured speaker at
the East-Central regional meet-
ing of the Council of Jewish Fed-
erations and Welfare Funds at
the Commodore - Perry Hotel,
Toledo, Sept. 6 and 7.
Stanley Kann, Pittsburgh, and
Judge Maurice Bernon, Cleve-
land, are co-chairmen of the pro-
gram committee for the meeting.

Jewish students to be graduated
from famed Heidelberg Univer-
sity in 14 years, who received
doctorates in medicine, are, Na-
than Wiener, 28, and Boris Anolik,
30, both former concentration
camp inmates.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Turbow
of North Martindale „Ave. an-
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Anne, to Sanford Hirsh-
field, son of Leo Hirshfield and
the late Mrs.- Dora Hirshfield.
The wedding will take place on
Nov. 27.

Saturday evening, July 26, Su-
zanne Lisbeth Ginsburg, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Ginsburg
of 664 Chicago Blvd., spoke her
nuptial vows to Gerald Norman
Tatarsky, son of Mrs. Max Ta-
tarsky of Denver.
The bride wore her sister
Lenore's wedding gown of opal-
escent antique satin, fashioned
with a bateau neckline, fitted
bodice and long tight sleeves.
The draped skirt was slit in
front to reveal a pleated chiffon
petticoat with cascading duchess
and posepointe lace. Her -.three-
tiered veil fell from a cap of
duchess lace. She carried a bou-
quet of orchids and stephanotis.
Mignon Ginsburg was her sis-
ter's maid of honor, and Mrs.
Marvin Mintz of Denver, sister
of the groom, was matron of
honor. The bridesmaids were
Stephanie Tatarsky and Mitzi
Mintz, with Janet Bing, cousin
of the bride, as flower girl.
Hyman Tatarsky served as best
man and Lewis J. Ruskin, Samuel
Tatarsky and Joseph S. Bing
were ushers. John and James
Ginn, cousins of the bride, seated
the guests.
After a six-week wedding trip
to Banff and Lake Louise, the
couple will reside in Denver.
