I ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Mrs. Leon Steinberg and her son Harry of Los Angeles who
have been visiting in Detroit with members of their family have
left for the east where they plan to spend the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Hy Brown and their daughter and son of Prairie
Ave. left Tuesday for Los Angeles where they plan to make their
home.
Mrs. Joseph Barnett and her children, Dr. and Mrs. Samuel.
Singer and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Babcock have left for their sum-
mer home at Cass Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Tatken of Sturtevant Ave. have left for a
few weeks in New York and Ventnor, N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Epps and their daughter, Marilyn, of the
Wilshire Hotel have left for Los Angeles.
Frieda Frazer, who attends Michigan State College at Lansing,
is home for the summer vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Frazer, of Leslie Ave. Her brother, David, who attends the
University of Michigan, also is home.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Gallow of Calvert Ave. accompanied by their
daughter, Mrs. Irving Atlas and her son, Richard, of Kansas City,
left Sunday for Long Island where they will be the guests of their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Salwen.
Mrs. Minnie Cohen of Biddleford, Me., is the guest of her son-
in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Serlin of Monterey Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Baron of Tyler Ave. are leaving this Sat-
urday by motor for Los Angeles.
Abe Gordon of Webb Ave. has left for Chicago where he will
be joined for a visit by his son and daughter-in-law, Rabbi and Mrs.
Albert Gordon, of Sioux City, Ia.
Among the campers leaving this Friday for Camp Wenonahin
Naple, Me., are Mary Lou and Susan Simons, Jacqueline and Judy
Hams, Joan Arnfeld, Joan Allen. Sally Lynn Michelson, Elaine
Platt, Judy and Janice Wainger and Lathe Ginn.
Mrs. S. L. Gittelrnan of Covington Rd. has as her guests for a
week before she leaves for the Adirondacks her nieces, Mrs. Aaron
Hodges of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Mrs. Harry Becker of Dayton.
Thomas M. Klein of Chicago Blvd., a student at the University
of Michigan, left Thursday for Rummey, N. H., where he will be a
counsellor at Camp Stinson.
Saul Cohen has returned to his home in Elkhart, Ind., following
a short visit with his daughters and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. William B. Isenberg of Edison Ave. had as their
guests for a few days his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles B. Gilbert, who were enroute from New York to Los Angeles
where they plan to make their home.
Mary Cooper, Joan Field and Sylvia Leiter have left for Ithaca,
N. Y., where they will attend the Maxwell Vacation School on the
Cornell Campus.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Schembeck of Monte Vista Ave. have re-
turned from a motor trip through Virginia.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Crohn of Wildemere Ave. had as their
guests last week. their son, David. of Baltimore and Mr. Crohn's
sister, Mrs. Marcella Rubel, of New York.
