Fauman's sociological_ studies
were interrupted by three-and-
a-half years of service with the
Army Air Forces weather serv-
ice. He served 'in the Philippines
and in Japan, where he -spent his
working hours investigating Jap-
anese meteorological methods
and instruments, and his leisure
hours with his home rabbi, then
Chaplain, Morris Adler who was
stationed six miles away from his
post.
In this country Fauman gave
courses in-meteorology and statis-
tical control 'at Army schools at
the University of Chicago and at
Harvard.
The new Community Council

the Case Committee of the Jew-
ish Social Service Bureau, and

Jewish Community Council's
work with the activities of other
group relations agencies, espec-
ially the newly organized city-
wide Coordination Council on
