admit entry into the United States
of thousands of displaced persons,
at a meeting last Monday spon-
sored by the Michigan Committee
on Displaced Persons.
He advocated support of the
Stratton bill, under which 400,000
DP's would be admitted within
four years.
' "The objection in Congress to
immigration is very great. I be-
lieve it is misguided . . It is so
real that only the most power-
ful action from home communities
like yours will check it, and then
it will be checked only in favor
of a bill of moderate character,"
Javits told his audience.

Emanuel in Grand Rapids this

stadium in Detroit June 15. The good-will tour is

sors of which Judge Samuel S. Leibowitz of Brook-
