THANKS TO the kindness and
understanding of good people, the
twi•e-wounded veteran, his wife
and youngster mentioned in last
week's column as living in one
room crowded quarters, unable
to find an apartment. will move
into a three-room site, Jan. 16.
Relatives and friends are in-
vited to attend the unveiling of
a bronze plaque in memory of
the late Sgt. Myron Rosenthal, 19,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Rosen-
thal, 2479 Blaine, on Sunday,
Jan. 12, at 2:30, at Machpelah
Cemetery. Rabbi Morris Adler
will officiate, assisted by mem-
bers of Julius Rosenwald Post of
the American Legion.
Sgt. Rosenthal was a member
of the 715th Bombardment Squad-
ron, 448th Bomb Group, stationed
with the 8th Air Force in
England. He entered service in
1943 after graduation from Cen-
tral High School and went*ver-
seas in October, 1944. On Jan.
7, 1945, he was reported missing
in action, with his entire crew,
on a mission to Achern, Germany.
No trace of the B-24 plane or
any member of the crew of nine
has ever been located. In a let-
ter to his parents, President
Truman announced that Rosen-
thal was posthumously awarded
the Purple Heart and other
medals, including service stars
for participation in the Ardennes
and Rhineland,, campaigns.

Plan Elaborate Graduation Exercises
Elaborate programs are being
prepared for the two commence-
ment ceremonies of the United
Hebrew Schools.
At ,the exercises of the Park-
side Hebrew School, Sunday
evening Jan. 12, in the auditor-
ium of the Custer Public School,
the feature will be a Hebrew
play centered around the strug-
gle between the Hasmoneans
l 'and the armies
of Antiochus.
Also included in the cere-
monies are the giving of the
lighted candle, a symbol of the
Torah, by a member of the pres-
ent graduating class to a member
of the next graduating class;
valedictorian talks in Hebrew
and English, the greetings from
the Woman's Auxiliary, the He-
heretofore, present the first prise
of the all around best student, in
both schools.
The president of the United
Hebrew Schools, Abe Kasle, will
extend greetings. Diplomas will
be awarded by the chairman of
the Board of Education, Maurice
H. Zackheim and Maurice Lan-
dau. Rabbi Eliezer A. Levi, of
Bnai Moshe, father of one of the
graduates of the Simons School,
will extend greetings to the pu-
pils and their parents.
