I ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Mr. and Mrs. William Ape!. of Burlingame Ave. left for Tucson,
Ariz., where-they plan to make their home.
Mrs. Samuel Sumner ofWindsor is spending a week in Detroit
visiting With relatives before leaving for an extended stay in Cali-
fornia.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Weisman and son, Asher, of Collingwood
Ave. are spending a few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Samuel Preston and daughters, Baraba and Judy, of Mon-
terey Ave., left on Sunday for St. Thomas. Ont., where they will be
the guests of Mrs. Preston's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
ReuQen Shepherd. Mr. Preston will join them on New Year's Day.
Mrs. Sidney Shmarak and her two sons of Snowden Ave. left
on Sunday for New York where they will visit with members of
their family. Mr. Shmarak will join them next week for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leader and son, Marvin. of Sturtevant Ave.,
returned on Sunday from an extended visit in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Friedman of Lee Place are celebrating the
homecoming of their son Leo, who has returned from service in the
European theater, and the 15-day furlough of their son Alfred, who
is stationed at Fort Lewis. Wash. They are also entertaining their
daughter. Mrs. Morris Lazaroff. and her two sons, Gary and Neil.
from St. Louis, and their two nephews. Harold and Arthur Zilber-
brand of Milwaukee, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Miller of Whitmore Rd. have returned from
a six-week motor trip to Mexico.
Honoring Evelyn Rhea Weisberg, whose marriage to George
Korman will take place Dec. 29. the following events took place:
Mrs. Al Budman and Mrs. Peter Weisberg entertained at the Women's
City Club for 30 guests; Mrs. Abraham Korman gave a dinner and
miscellaneous shower for 115 guests at Rosenberg's; Mrs. Monte
Weston and Mr. Martin Weisberg gave a luncheon and miscellaneous
shower at the Wardell-Sheraton for 50 guests; Mesdames Ben Bailis,
Dan Grant, Sam Bertman, Morey Weisberg, William Schultz, Sam
Tenzer. B. Neiman, and Sam Goss entertained at a luncheon at the
Bailis'.
Dr. and Mrs. Irving B. Shulak of Baylis Ave. are spending a week
in New York City as guests at t".=2, Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.
Miss Barbara Becker is spending her holiday vacation from the
Uni'Yersity of Michigan with her parents, the Harry Beckers of
Stratticona Drive.

1 cup Manischewitz's Matzo Meal
teaspoon salt
2 eggs
3 tablespoons fat
cold water
Measure meal and salt in bowl.
Add melted fat, eggs (well beaten),
and mix well. Add water - gradually
about cup) to make loose batter.
Shape into balls and drop into boil-
ing. salted water. Let boil 10 to 15
minutes. Drain and drop into soup
a few minutes before serving.
