ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Alwyn V. Freeman has returned to Washington, D. C., after a
few- days' visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander, Freeman.
of Chicago Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Miles Finsterwald of Balmoral Rd. returned from
a visit in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mills of Cincinnati were the guests of
Mrs. Mills' son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Seth L. Jacobson
of Huntington Woods over the Thanksgiving week-end.
Mrs. Milford Stern or the Bekrest Hotel is expected home on
Sunday from a fortnight's stay in Martinsville, Ind.
Mrs. A. C. Lappin of Boston Blvd. has returned from a stay in
French. Lick Springs, Ind.
Mrs. David Oppenheim of Chicago Blvd. has returned from
Chicago where she was the guest of her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Barker.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman, of Fairfield Ave., have re-
turned from Gladstone, Mich., where they spent the last few
weeks as the guest of her mother, Mrs. Henry Rosenblum.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J_ Marks and son, Lee, of Broadstreet Blvd.,
have returned from a fortnight's stay in Williamsburg, Va.
Maurice Aronsson of Chicago Blvd. and Harry Brown of LaSalle
Blvd. returned from a stay in French Lick Springs, Ind.
Pfc. Herbert F. Grayson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Grayson
of Royal Oak, who recently returned from the Philippines, is now
on terminal leave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Desenberg, of Fairfield Ave., had as their
guest over the holiday week-end his mother, Mrs. L. M. Desenberg
of Buchannan, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Leobard Oppenheim of Whitmore Rd. have as
their guest his father, Jacob Oppenheim of Cleveland.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Escher returned to their home in New
York after a few days' visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jules
Klein of Calvert Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eisenstadt of Evanston, Ill., returned home
after a few days' visit with her mother, Mrs. Joseph Friedman of
Hamilton Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Geschelin of Pennington Dr. left on
Monday to spend a week in New York.
Mrs. Aaron Heiligman of New York is the house guest of Mr.
and Mrs. Samuel Helper of Atkinson Ave.
Dr. and Mrs. Davis Benson, of Northlawn Ave, had as their
guests over the Thanksgiving week-end her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Abe Cohen of Efrata, Pa.
Mrs. Samuel Effron and her two small sons, of Boston Blvd.,
left on Sunday for San Francisco to be the guests of her parents.
Mrs. Norman Helpert, of Elmhurst Ave., has as her guest Miss
Rose Levy of Toronto.
Jack Perlmutter, who is attending the University of Wisconsin
in Madison, spent the holiday week-end with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Perlmutter of Fullerton Ave.
Included among the many parties given in honor of Miss
Renee Friedman, whose marriage to Richard Gunsberg will take
place this Sunday, were the showers given on Aug. 26 by Mrs. Carl
Frazer, formerly of Tuxedo Ave. and now of Culver City. Calif.,
and on Oct. 30 when Mrs. Lawrence Shell was hostess at her
home on Cortland Ave. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gunsberg were hosts
at a family dinner on Nov. 10 at the Book Cadillac Hotel. Mrs.
Ernest Slobin and her sister, Miss Bell Bolotin of Youngstown. O..
gave a shower and luncheon at Huyler's on Nov. 12. On Nov.
20 Mrs. Robert Rosenberg's luncheon was held at the Statler Hotel.
The next evening Mrs. Arthur Urbach was hostess at a party in
her home in Wisconsin Ave. Three days later Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
Greenwald were hosts to the Friedman family at a dinner in their
apartment in the Wilshire and -Nov. 25 was the night of the
spinster dinner given by Miss JUne Rosenberg in her home on
Ohio Ave. Last Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lynch were
hosts at a dinner in their home on Woodward Ave. Concluding
the round of parties was the rehearsal supper at which the bride-
elect's parents were hosts in their home on Ilene Ave.

Miss Lillian Zeretsky, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Zaretsky
of Philadelphia Ave., became the
bride of Lt. Byron Berlin, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berlin
of Greenlawn Ave., Nov. 9, at
Temple Beth El. Dr. B. Benedict
Glazer officiated.
The bride chose a white satin
gown with a bouffant skirt and
short sleeves. She wore long
white pigskin gloves and carried
a cascade of white roses. Her
fingertip veil was caught in a
tiara of tiny seed pearls.
Eve Zaretsky, sister of the
bride was maid of honor. Doris
Abramson and Agatha Gardner,
of Charleston, W. Va., were the
bridesmaids. Best man was Lt.
Berlin's brother, Jean, who had
flown in for the occasion from
Georgia where he is stationed.
The ushers were Maurice Green-
berg and Samuel Solomon. Seat-
ing the guests were Joel Ham-
burger and Joseph Harris. The
junior ushers were Merv.-in Solo-
mon and Jackie Singer.
Out-of-town guests were
Messrs. Gershon, Sam, Morris
Solomon and Sonia and Edythe
Solomon, of Montreal; Mr. and
Mrs. Hyman Solomon, Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Neswiut and Mr. and
Mrs. Abe Block of New York,
Mrs. A. Horowitz and Sam Berlin
of Cincinnati, and Agatha Gard-
ner of Charleston, W. 'Va.
Lt. Berlin is a graduate of
Wayne Medical School. The bride
was graduated from Wayne Col-
lege of Liberal Arts.

"Palestine Speaks," is

known radio, stage, and motion
picture artists.
