BOGROW FAMILY CLUB will
meet Saturday evening, Dec. 14,
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

KARL KRUEGER and the De-
troit Symphony will have two
guests on their Eighth Subscrip-
tion Concerts Dec. 12 and 13 in
Music Hall. Zoltan Kodaly, cele
brated Hungarian composer, will
conduct the orchestra in one of
his best loved works, and George
Haddad, Canadian pianist, will
perform the solo lines in the
"Nights in the Gardens of Spain"
in tribute to its composer, Man-
ual De Falla, who died three
weeks ago.

The BOSTON SYMPHONY
ORCHESTRA, under the direc-
tion of Serge Koussevitsky, will
present a program of Mendeis-
sohn, Strauss, Moussorgsky and
Tschaikovsky, at the Masonic
Auditorium at 8:20 p.m., Tues-
day, Dec. 10. Next Saturday
evening the Masonic Auditorium
Concerts will present Serge Jar-
off and his DON COSSAK
chorus and dancers. Tickets to
both concerts are available at
the Masonic and at Grinnell's.

"The Whole Town's Laughing"
is the comedy to be presented by
the Senior Class of CENTRAL
HIGH SCHOOL, Dec. 13 and 14,
in the school auditorium. The
plot concerns ancestral conscious
aristocrats who find they have
been supported by the proceeds
from a Coney Island hot dog
stand. Under the direction of
Manuel Simon, the cast includes
Marilynn Pensler, Leonard Ma-
zerov, Rosalie Ferrer, Bert Sand-
weiss, Sherwood Sandweiss and
Charlotte Kaufman. Others in the
cast are Marion Marks, Dorothy
Neiman, Shirlee Schlain, Morton
Freedman, Charlotte Lehrman,
Roslyn Heller and Allan Clam-
age.

guest appearance on Altman's
Jewish Hour Saturday evening,

—The marriage of Harriet Burn-
stein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.'
Israel Burnstein of Chene St.., to
Frederick Rappaport, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Rappaport of
Philadelphia Ave. was solemniz-
ed by Rabbi Leon Fram at Con-
gregation Bnai David, Nov. 28.
Florence Karabenick served
her sister as matron of honor.
Leo Goldstein was best man.
Bridesmaids were Gladys Rap-
paport, Lorraine Rappaport, Bet-
ty Burstein, Maxine Margolis and
Charlotte Burnstein. Ushers
were: Sol Iwrey, Seymour Iwrey,
Carl Burstein, Alvin Goldberg
and Abraham Burnstein.
Lorraine Hirschman was flower

Stuart Karabenick.
The newlyweds are spending a
three-week honeymoon in Miami,
Fla., after which they will reside

MRS. JEROME TARNOPOL

The marriage of Miss Miriam
Elaine Coggan, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Benjamin Coggan of
Wildemere Ave., and Jerome Tar-
nopol, son of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer
Tarnopol of Northlawn Ave., was
solemnized at a beautiful candle-
light ceremony Nov. 10, at the
Statler Hotel, Rabbi Morris Adler
officiating.
The bride's gown, of eggshell
satin, was fashioned with a fitted
bodice, high round neckline and
yoke of lattice work. The sleeves

were long and pointed and the
full skirt extended into a court
train. Her veil of illusion was
edged with real rosepointe lace
and she carried a white bible
with white orchids and streamers

of stephanotis.
Barbara and Ruth Ann Coggan
were their sister's attendants and
the bridegroom's father served
as best man.
After the ceremony the young
couple left for Miami Beach.

U of M Hillel Hears
Atom Research Man

Dr. Martin Chanin, research as-
sistant in the Rackham Arthritis
Research Unit, will speak on
atomic energy at the Hillel
Foundation at the University of
Michigan this Friday, following
the 7:45 p. m. Sabbath eve ser-
vices.
Chanin has made a study
of atomic development and will
discuss its scientific significance
as well as its meaning in the
modern world.
Also featured on U. of M.'s
Hillel program for next week is
Rabbi Morris Adler, of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek, who will discuss
"Intermarriage" as part of Hillel's
marriage lecture series, next Wed-

stein will give a dramatic nar-
ration.

Better coordination of services
in behalf of new Americans,
present and prospective, has been
achieved through an agreement
between Resettlement Service
and the Detroit Section, National
Council of Jewish Women.
The Council will render aid in
the field of naturalization and
in the location of refugees in
Detroit and abroad. Resettlement
Service will continue- to provide
help in the area of case work,
relief, medical care and general
social adjustment, and will en-
large its migration services by
taking over the Council's work
in preparing affidavits.
Both organizations will retain
their identities, staffs and of-
fices. A joint committee, meet-
ing monthly will consider
border-line situations, develop
practices relating to intake and
clearance, and recommend such
changes in policies as needed.
Resettlement Service is located
at the Jewish Social Service Bur-
eau, 5737 Second, and is open
from 8:30 a. in. to 5 p. m., Mon-
day through Friday. Council of
Jewish Women office is located
at the Jewish Center and is open
frau. 9:30 a. m. to 4 p. m. Monday
through Friday.
