tion Shaarey Zedek will open its
annual series of book reviews and
brunches at 12:30 p. m., Tuesday,
in the social hall of the syna-

gogue. The brunches are under

the general chairmanship of Mrs.
Herman Wetsman.
Mrs. Walter Field, program
chairman, has announced that

Rabbi Morris Adler, will begin
book reviews with a general ap-
proach to Jewish literature. "A

Model Jewish Book-Shelf" is the
title of his talk. There will be a
question period.

MRS. RALPH PIERCE

Marion 'Ruth Aaron, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Aaron
of 2276 Oakman Blvd., became
the bride of Ralph Pierce, sori
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pierce,
of 1329 S. Keeler, Chicago, at
an evening ceremony Nov. 10 at
Shaarey Zedek. Rabbi Morris
Adler officiated.
Harriet Rosamond Aaron was
matron of honor, and the brides-
maids were Charlotte Pierce,
Iris Bank, Lillian Rudner, Ber-
nice Adler, Ena Wagner and
Marjorie Miller.
Melvin Levitt served as best
man. Meyer Cohen. Theodore
Bale, Joseph Louis Bale, James
Schneider, Edward Friedman,
and Sheldon Wagner seated the
guests.
The bride's gown was fashion-
ed of oyster white satin with a
modified sweetheart neckline and
side paniers. She carried orchids
and gardenias on a Bible, with
streamers of stephanotis.
The young couple are now
honeymooning in Washington and
Miami Beach.

Sisterhood of the Northwest
Hebrew Congregation and Cen-
ter will sponsor a "Movie Night"

Movies to be shown are "The
Singing Blacksmith," featuring
Maurice Schwartz and Moishe
Osher; "The Life of Paderewski,"
and a short Jewish comedy.

Henry Feinberg, Jewish Social
Service Bureau staff psychologist,
and Doris Sperling Markel, secre-
tary to the director, were honored
for 20 years of service at JSSB,
at a dinner given by staff and
board members on Nov. 6 at the
Jewish Center.
Feinberg, in charge of the
psychological testing service at
JSSB, is chairman of exhibits of
the Michigan Welfare League and
an instructor in psychology and
advertising at Great Lakes Col-
lege. He has published articles
on psychological research in the
Journal of the Michigan Academy
and other psychological journals.i

tour. The Cavalcade of Jewish
Music has been heard in over
two hundred cities in the United
States and Canada. and includes
Hebrew music, songs of the syn-
agogue, music of present-day
Palestine, Yiddish art songs, pia-

From Berlin Survivors

A beautifully written scroll of
the Jewish law (Torah) from the
surviving Jews of Berlin was
presented to Dr. Stephen S. Wise,
founder and president of the
Jewish Institute of Religion. at a
godspeed dinner tendered him by
its trustees and faculty at Town
Hall Club, New York, prior to
his departure for Switzerland to
attend the World Zionist Con-
gress.

Varying Aspects of Zionism

Chapter I of the Zionist
Organization of Detroit invites

Rabbi Chaim Weinstein. of Conf.
Beth Aaron, discuss "Political
Zionism vs. Spiritual Zionism" at

views of his subject, and rebuttal
