. Marion Ruth Aaron, who was married to' Ralph Pierce on
No4. 10, was feted before her marriage by Rose Granitz, Betty,
Pearl and Florence Aaron, at a shower Oct. 7 at the Wilshire
Hotel; a shower Oct. 12 at the Belmont Hotel, Chicago, by Mrs.
Si Reznik and Mrs. L. Wellick; a shower by Ena Wagner and
Maribrie Miller at Frames Oct. 20; a shower by Mrs. Lewis Man-
ning Oct. 30; a party by Mrs. Henry L. Bale at Huylers Oct. 31;
a party by Mrs. David Goldberg Nov. 2 at the Statler Terrace
Room; and a party by Mrs. Maurice I. Bale at the Statler Terrace
Room Nov. 6. A trousseau tea was held at Marion's home Nov. 3.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Goldman of Griggs Ave. have returned from
a visit with their son, Robert, who is attending Georgia Military
Academy in Atlanta.
Mrs. Royal Allen Oppenheim visited h, Washington last week,
to attend the reception given by Russian Ambassador Nikolai V.
Novikov at the Soviet Embassy. Mrs. Oppenheirri was the guest of
her brother, Dr. Alwyn Vernon Freeman, assistant legal advisor
to the State Department.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall I. Brenner and family have moved from
Euclid Ave. to 2305 Taylor.
Mrs. Chas. Smith of 18654 San Juan Drive will be hostess at
a tea honoring her son's fiancee, Miss Roslyn Tauber, from 2 to
p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Mex Shelden of Webb Ave. announce the pro-
motion of their son, Dr. Warren E. Shelden, stationed ir. Germany,
from Lieutenant to Captain.
Miss Elaine Glass, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Glass of 18240
San Juan Drive, will spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her
family. She is a senior at the University of Illinois. _
Mr. and Mrs. Myer Bregman and daughters of W. Grand Ave.
have returned from a two-week stay at Miami Beach, where they
visited Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Agree and daughter, Lillian, and Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Milstein, all former Detroiters now living in Miami
Beach.
Marilyn Gold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell Gold of San
Juan Drive is visiting in Toronto.
Mrs. David Fidler and Mrs. Charles Ornstein will be hostesses
at a tea from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, honoring Miss Esther
Kawa, December bride-elect, at the home of Mrs. Hyman Nathan,

Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Sweet of 2953 Leslie, will celebrate their
golden wedding anniversary, Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Bnai David
Synagogue, with a dinner and dance given by their children. Rabbi
J. Rabinowitz will officiate at the wedding ceremony.
Miss Charlotte Fine, of Webb Ave., has returned after a month's
stay in Miami Beach, where she visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Alex Fine, of Meridian Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Levine, of 18666 Santa Barbara, celebrated
their 14th wedding anniversary Nov. 6. Mrs. Levine was honored
with the good neighbor of the week orchid of the Northwest
section.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Hass will be hosts to the teaching staff
of Temple Israel at their home, 8651 LaSalle Blvd., at 8:30 p. m.,
Thursday, Nov. 21.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blacher were hosts to the current events
class sponsored by Temple Israel Sisterhood at their home, 18082
Greenlawn, Nov. 5. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gilberg will hold the next
meeting of the current events class at their home, 20010 Canterbury,
Wednesday evening, Nov. 20.
Mrs. Philip P. Fealk and Mrs. Joseph Weintraub are attending
the 21st annual Mizrachi convention in Atlantic City.
Mrs. L. M. Moses of New Orleans is the guest of her son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Moses of Wildemere Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Mortimer H. Meyer, of Suffolk Dr., have re-
turned from a week's stay in New York.
Mrs. M. M. Wittleshofer, of Boston Blvd., left Thursday to

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Helper, of Atkinson Ave., are spending
a fortnight in Evansville, Ind., where they are the guests of their
son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Morton Helper.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Spevakow, of Hazelwood Ave., have re-
turned from a short visit in Boston.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Davidson, of Canterbury Rd., left Monday
for a week in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman, of Fairfield Ave., are leaving
this Saturday for Gladstone, Mich., where they will spend a fort-
night as the guests of Mrs. Winkelman's mother, Mrs. Henry
Rosenblum.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thal, of Toledo, spent the last week-end
in Detroit visiting friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Lieberman, of Santa Barbara Dr., and
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kann, of Virginia Pk., have returned from CM-
cinnati, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kaufman of
Chatanooga, Tenn.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Kline, of Cortland Ave., had as their

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Glazer, of Chicago, are visiting here

Earl Freshman and his sons, Gordon and Samuel, of Hunt-
ington Woods, have left for Coral Gables, Fla., where they plan
to spend the winter months. Mrs. Freshman will join them later.

from a motor trip to California.

Schaver's Reception
Postponed Until Dec. 1

To Hold Food Shower

The reception in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Morris L. Schaver,
originally planned for next Tues-
day, has been postponed to Sun-
day evening, Dec. 1, at the Lee
Plaza.
Morris Lieberman, chairman
of the Detroit Central Commit-
tee of the Labor Zionist Organi-
zation of America, states the
Schavers will report on their ex-
periences in Europe. Mrs. Scha-
ver will,describe her six months'
tour of DP camps in Germany.

A canned food shower will be
held at the meeting of the Worn- -
en's Auxiliary, Jewish Home for
Aged, at 1:15 p.m., Monday, at
the Home, 11501 Petoskey. Mrs.
Sam Zeldes is in charge.
After the meeting, a musical
program, being arranged by Mrs.
David Kliger, will feature Mrs.
