Plans Overseas Study
NEW YORK, (JTA)—Problems
which Jewish communities in the
United States will face during
the .coming year were discussed
at a meeting of the board of di-
rectors of the Council of Jewish
Federations and Welfare Funds
this week.
The board approved and re-
ferred to the executive commit-
tee a recommendation that the
Council consult with major over-
seas agencies concerning the need
for an on-the-spot analytical
study of Jewish overseas needs
and services, subject to special
financing provisions.
The board also took note of
national Jewish organizations in
the U.S. which are planning sub-
stantial capital fund projects
"running into millions of dollars."
Rescue Children, Inc. Gets Charter
GOV. DEWEY of New York presents charter to HERBERT
TENZER, chairman of Rescue Children, Inc. at the governor's
headquarters, in New York. Looking on is NATHANIEL GOLD-
STEIN, attorney general. Rescue Children. Inc. has been or-
ganized to raise funds for Jewish War Orphans now in Vaad
Hatzala homes in Europe through a foster adoption plan.
Center Branch Opens
Fall-Winter Program
The D. W. Simons branch of
the Jewish Center opened its
Fall-Winter program on Oct. 29,
it was announced by Sam Neu-
schatz, intermediate director. The
branch operates in the D. W.
Simons Hebrew School on Tues-
days and Wednesdays from 8 to
10:15 p. m.
The eight clubs which meet at
the Dexter Branch are: AZA

to 18; AZA Chapt. 313 for boys
16 to 18; BBG chapt. Frances
Solowich for girls 15 to 17; BBG
chapt. Henrietta Szold for girls
