Charming Bride

ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Goldenberg have returned to their home
in Chicago after spending the holidays with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Landsberg of Greenlawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zeiger of Los Angeles, former Detroiters,
visited here for several ,days enroute to Maryland and Virginia.

Mr. and Mrs. David Linde of Trumbull Ave. have left for an
extended visit in Mexico and California. They were accompanied
to Chicago by their daughter, Mrs. Arthur Erdos.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Blumeno of Ottawa Drive, Pontiac, were
hosts to 225 guests at a dinner at the Workman's. Circle Education
Bldg., Sunday, Sept. 29., in honor of their silver wedding anni-
versary. In the receiving line with the honored couple were their
daughter, Shirley; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blumeno, Norman and
Harold Blumeno, sons of the couple, and David •arnpner, Mrs.
Blumeno's father. Guests from out-of-town were Mrs. Dora Guter-
.man, of N. Y.; Mr, and Mrs. Reuben Guterman of Kew gardens,
Long Island; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Karnpner of Waterbury, Conn.; Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Hutton of Bay City; Mr. and Mrs. Abe Meretsky of
Cincinnati; Mr. and Mrs. Sol Manes of Grand Rapids, Pontiac and
Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Erman and daughter, formerly of Cortland

Ave., are now residing in their new home at 18003 Pennington.
Richard Bloch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard H. Block of Muir-

land Ave., has left to attend the University of Chicago. -
Al Cohen has returned to New York after a visit with his
sisters, Mrs. I. Bussell, Mrs. L. Kantor, Mrs. A. Keywell and Mrs.
H. Topor. Mr. Cohen, prior to entry in the armed forces, was
graduated from Wayne University. He returns to New York to
resume his career as a radio director-writer.
Mr. and Mrs. David Rott of 3245 Chicago left Oct. 7 for their
winter home on Alton road, Miami, Fla.
Mrs. David Sheplow of Clairmont Ave. is the guest of her
daughter, Bernice, in New York city, for two weeks. Mrs. Sheplow
was accompanied on the trip by her sons, Samuel and Ralph, who
have returned to Detroit after spending a week-end in Manhattan
with Mr. and Mrs. Dwight M. Pettit Jr.
Norma' Karbal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Karbal of
Webb Ave., has resumed her studies at the University of Miami.
On Oct. 4 in Des Moines' Ia., Albert Saul Kalman was gradu-
ated from Des Moines Still College of %Osteopathy. Dr. Kalman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Kalman of Highland Ave., will interne at
the New Art Centre Hospital.
Marion Dolnick will entertain at a Bridal Luncheon given in
honor of her cousin, Barbara Hasnas, at the Book-Cadillac Hotel,
Oct. 12. Miss Hasnas was entertained at a bridal shower at Frame's,
Oct. 1, by her aunts, Mesdames S. Dolnick, H. Maltz, I. Natinsky,
H. B. Friedenberg and N Marovitz of Chicago.
Gallow Family Club will commence the year's meeti ► gss at

the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Levy, 2967 Glendale, on Sun-
day, Oct. 13.
Dr. and Mrs. Adoliph Shoenfield will leave Saturday to attend
the graduation of their daughter, Ruth, from John Hopkins School
of Nursing. They will be accompanied by Mrs. M. A. Friedlander.

At a candlelight ceremony at
the Book Cadillac Hotel Grand
Ballroom, which was transform-
ed into a bower of palms and
gladioli, Miss Rita Sue Kaltman,
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert
Kaltman of Boston Blvd., and
Elliot David Cohen, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Cohen of the Wil-
shire Hotel, were united in mar-
riage on Oct. 3. Rabbis A. M.
Hershman and Leon Fram offi-
ciated.
The bride wore a gown of ivory
slipper satin. It had a tightly fit-
ted bodice with a sheer yoke out-
lined in scallops of tiny seed
pearls. The long tight sleeves
which ended in points over her
hands were also edged with the
tiny seed pearls. The heavy satin
overskirt which extended into a
four-yard court strain was fash-
ioned over a bouffant skirt of
sheer marquisette and was cut
away in a scallop effect which

omi, to Monroe Daniel Seligman,

and the late Benjamin Seligman
of this city.
Miss Chertoff, national presi-

dent of Junior Hadassah, the
Young Women's Zionist Organi-
zation of America, is one of the
outstanding Zionist youth leaders
in this country. She is serving
her fourth term.
Mr. Seligman is a graduate of
the University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill, where he was ad-
mitted into Phi Beta Kappa in
his junior year.
