JERUSALEM, (JTA) — British
r-iilitary forces occupying the set-
ement of Birya, whose entire
tale population was sentenced to

conviction on the charge of illegal
,ossession of arms, evacuated the
colony.
The district officer and high
nilitary and police officials re-
turned the settlement to its in-
habitants together with a formal
announcement that the three and
one-half months occupation was
ended. The colony was occupied
on Feb. 28 when British military
and police forces raided it follow-
ing an alleged attack on an Arab
Legion camp nearby.

Medical School on a two-year
teaching fellowship, after which
she was granted the degree of
Master of Science. She also
worked for a year on a bacter-
iological research grant at Re-
ceiving Hospital.
Mr. -Gershenson, treasurer of
Ned's Auto Supply Co., received
his B. A. and LLB. degrees from
Wayne University. He is affil-
iated. with Phi Gamma Rho Law
Fraternity.
Hungarian ORT Buys
Farm for Training
100- Jewish Children
BUDAPEST (JTA)—The Hun-
garian ORT. has just purchased a
training farm with capacity for
instructing 60 boys and 40 girls
in the rudiments of agriculture,
the Budapest ORT committee an-
nounces. In addition, the organi-
zation has bought 100 weaving
looms in Budapest for handicraft
education.
At present the Hungarian ORT,
which functioned throughout the
war, is supporting 12 training in-
stitutions with 597 students. In
Budapest there are 150 boys in
the technical school and 120 girls
in a vocational school. The - di-
plomas of these schools are rec-
ognized as equivalent to the gov-
ernment high school diplomas.
