the English-speaking branthes of

liances, will be the guest of the
City Committee of JNWA and its
local English-speaking branch
this Saturday night, at Lachar's
Hall on 12th St.
Former servicemen are espec-
ially invited to this gathering, at
which the issues of the forthcom-
ing World Zionist Congress will
be discussed.
There will be a musical pro-
gram and refreshments will be

CAIRO, (JTA)—About 20 per-
sons, including two policemen,
were wounded here when a mob
stoned police who attempted to
break up a demonstration against

Anglo-American inquiry commit-
tee. Fifty persons were arrested.

A family reunion, inspired by
a Detroiter, has resulted in the
planting of a grove of 1,000 trees
in Palestine through the Jewish
National Fund.

family held a reunion, for the

Haven, Conn.
Activities of this family having
been interrupted on account of
the war, Mrs. Hordes, the former
Belle Savelewitz, arranged for
the reunion of all relatives from
New York, Nevi Jersey and Cori::
necticut on May 12.
Mr. Hordes inaugurated the
tree-planting project and the
group contributed $1,500 to plant
a grove of trees in Palestine, in
memory of the parents of the
Savelewitz family, the late Zuss-
Man and Rachel Savelewitz.

Habonim Registration

The quota for Camp Habonim,
Day Camp of the Center, is rap-
idly being reaChed.
Parents are urged by Aviva
Gootman, director of the camp
and the Center's junior pro-
gram, to call the registrar, Betty
Salter, MA. 8400, immediately
for an interview appointment.
She states:
"Children are being interview-
ed on an individual basis, and
their interests , are being deter-
mined, with the assistance of
their parents. Our camp is being
conducted by a , highly trained
and competent staff which has
been selected on the basis of
specialized skill in working with
children. Center membership is
required of all children apply-
ing for camp. The fee will be
$6.50 per week. The camp sea-
son, July 1 to Aug. 23, will be
divided into four two-week per-
iods. The minimum registration
period is two weeks." -
The camp will meet Mondays
through Fridays, 9 a. m. to 4
p. m. For those who desire .it,
buses will make station stops at
selected points where the chil-
