ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Oleshansky and daughter, Anne, of 18400
Monica, are vacationing in Miami Beach for a month.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. Frank of Colorado Ave., are visiting in
New York City.

Included among the travelers who recently return from Palm
Beach where they spent the winter months were Dr. and Mrs. Leo
M. Franklin of Edison Ave., Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield, Mrs. I. L.
Polozker and Mrs. Eugene Sloman of the Belcrest Hotel.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newman of Canterbury Rd., Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Epstein of Canterbury Rd., Dr. B. D. Welling of the Bel-
crest, and David M. Welling of Webster Hall have returned from
a three weeks' stay in Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kaichen of Huntington Woods have re-
turned from Coronada Beach, Calif., where they visited Mrs.
Kaichen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Heavenrich.
Martin L. Butzel of Birmingham has returned from a few
weeks' fishing trip in Stewart, Fla. Mrs. Butzel and their three small
sons will return a few weeks later.
Norma Wittleshofer returned to her classes at Connecticut Col-
lege, New London, Conn., on Monday, after spending a few days'
Spring vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Wittleshofer
of Boston Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Sandorf of Warrington Rd., were at
home to their friends last Sunday afternoon on the occasion of their
25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Baum of Denver, Colo. spent the last
week-end as the guests of Mr. Baum's brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
And Mrs. Lewis Baum of Fairfield Ave.
Mrs. Harry Cole of the Belcrest Hotel has returned from Kan-
7as City, Mo., where she spent a few weeks visiting her son-in-law
Lind daughter, Mr. and. Mrs. Norman Sidman.
Joan Grosner, who is attending Western College in Oxford, 0.,
;s spending a few days' spring vacation with her parents, Mr. and
:grs. Sylvan S. Grosner of Atkinson Ave.
Mrs. Adolph Ehrlich of Calvert Ave., has returned from Ports-
mouth, Va., where she spent a few weeks visiting with her brother-
n-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Epstein.
Mrs. Alex Baruch of the Belcrest Hotel has returned from Chi-
cago where she spent a few weeks visiting with her mother, 'Nil's.
Molly Bayles.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin M. Kohn of Vinewood Ave., have returned
from a 10-day visit in New York City.
Ozzie Simmons, who has been attending Harvard College since
his discharge from the U. S. Army, is spending his week's Spring
vacation with Mrs. Simmons who for the present is making her
some with her parents, Cantor and Mrs. Jacob Sonenklar of Cal-
vert Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Turner of New York City spent a few days
here last week visiting with friends. They were guests at the Detroit
Leland Hotel.
Mrs. Davis Benson and her children, Sharon and Ronald, re-
turned on Sunday to their home in Efrata, Pa., after a visit with
Capt. Benson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bensou w pf Calvert Ave.
Capt. Benson is at present stationed at the WalWReed Hospital,
Washington, D. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Webber of Pasadena Ave., have returned
from a week's stay in New York City.
Mrs. Nathan Seitner returned to her home in Flint on Monday
after a few days' visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Jarvis Weiss of Buena Vista Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Dorfman of Fullerton Ave., have re-
turned from Columbus, 0., where they spent last week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meisner of Highland Ave., had as their
guest, last week, Monte Markus of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Norman Helper of Elmhurst Ave., who has been winter-
ing in Tucson, Ariz., has gone on to Los Angeles, where she will
qaend some time before returning home.
Among the sojourners who have recently returned home from
Beach, are: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goldman of Canterbury Rd.;
.'gr. and Mrs. Emil C. Rose and family of Fairfield Ave.; Mrs. John
mmerman of Gloucester Dr., and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Leve of
ilazelwood Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol A. Wolff of Lawrence Ave. have returned from
a two months' trip which included Mexico, Guatemala, Havana

Mr. and Mrs. Siegmund L. Brin of Calvert Ave. have returned
prom Los Angeles where they spent the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Sosin will celebrate their 25th wedding
:nniversary on April 7, at a party for relatives and friends at their
:ome, 2677 Collingwood. -
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gold of 3761 Waverly will celebrate their
_5th wedding anniversary April 9.
Mrs. S. Irwin Shaw and daughter, Muriel, of Cherrylawn Ave.,

JWB Issues New
Passover Book

Providing Passover observance
material for the development of
projects for Jewish youth and
adults in community centers and
in the United States armed forces
throughout the world, the Jewish
Center and Army and Navy
Divisions of the National Jewish
Welfare Board (JWB), 145 E.
32nd St., New York, have- issued
"Passover: Program Material for
Youth and Adults", the latest in
the series of holiday bulletins.
The 96 page book presents a
variety of stories, dramatic pres-
entations, selections of verse and
prose, topics for discussion, quiz
programs, arts and crafts sugges-
tions, recipes for dishes, games
,
and songs and lists of resource
materials suggesting wide pro-

First Shipment of Oranges
Reaches Romanian Port
BUCHAREST (JTA)—The first
shipment of Palestine oranges to
arrive in Romania since the out-
break of the war were unloaded
last Monday. Their import was
made possible by a government
decree authorizing Romanian
merchants to use their assets
abroad. The importer, Moshe
Rothman, told the JTA that he
hoped to increase imports from
Palestine.
