Marshall Women Hold
Luncheon Wednesday
Miss Ruth Magid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Magid of
Hazelwood Ave., has returned from Washington, D. C. after serv-
ing for 21 months as secretary to a member of the C., War
Labor. Board.
Miss Jean Shirley Harrison of Santa Barbara Drive is spend-
ing several weeks in Mexico City. Upon her return she will re-
sume her studies as a junior at the University of Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Rose of .1616 W. Boston Blvd. will hold
open house in honor of the 45th wedding anniversary of Mr. Rose's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rose, on Sunday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 6
p. m. No cards. .
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bloch and. children, Richard. and Nancy,
of Muirland Ave. are spending the winter in Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kobrin and daughter of Richton Ave. left
for Los Angeles where they will make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Oppenheim of 3765 Pasadena will be hosts
at an open house reception in honor of their niece and nephew, Mr.
and Mrs. Maurice Coggan, (Laverne Weiss of Beverly Hills, Calif.)

Lt. and Mrs. Milton H. Aronson (Eileen Sally Steingold) have
returned from a two-week stay in St. Louis, Mo. Lt. Aronson is
now on terminal leave from the U. S. army. The Aronsons are mak-
ing their home at 150 W. Euclid.
A reception in honor of the golden wedding anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis R. Grosslight .of Boston Blvd. will be held from 4
to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at the Book Cadillac Hotel. No cards.
Mrs. Esther Sobel flew to Santa Ana, California, last Saturday
with her two children, Susan and Michael. She plans to rejoin her
husband, Milton Sobel, in their new home at 1123 Cypress.
Honoring the graduation from Wayne University of their
"daughter, Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. A. Soifer of 2546 Glynn Court will
hold open house on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 10 p. m. No cards.
Mr. and - Mrs. Jerry J. Greenblatt and daughter, Fayanne, of
Fairfield Ave., have left for a four-week stay in Los Angeles and
San Francisco. •
Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Kaplan (Rita Alice Bakst) of 2511
Monterey returned- from New York. Mr. Kaplan was discharged a
few weeks ago, after his return from the ETO.
Before returning to Long Island, N.Y., Miss Gloria Baker, who
was houseguest of her sister, Mrs. Louis Langsam, was entertained
at a luncheon at the Chidwa Tea room, attended by all who had
acted as hostesses during her extended stay in Detroit.
Larry Madison, state department commander of the Jewish
War Veterans, and Mrs. Madison were the guests of Mrs. Fred T.
Murphy, 17620 E. Jefferson, Grosse Pointe, at a reception given
in honor of General Wainwright, Sunday evening. Among the
guests were high ranking army and naval officers in this district.

gown and fingertip veil of illu-
sion held in place by a sweet
heart cap of chantilly lace. A
white orchid and gardenias cov_
ered her prayerbook.
Her sister, Frances Keeps and
Ellen Jane LaBow, were matron
of honor and junior bridesmaid,
respectively. Harvey Dobkin
was best man.
Upon their return from their
honeymoon in New York, the
newlyweds will make their home
in Detroit.
On Monday, Feb. 11, the
League of Jewish Women's Or-
ganizations will meet with all
members of its constituent or-
ganizations at Brown Memorial
Chapel, Temple Beth El, at 1:30
p.m.
The program will sponsor a
shower. in response to the ap-
peal of the JDC and national or-
ganizations in behalf of the Jews
in Europe:
Food and knitted items, medi-
cines and comfort goods, layettes
and toys are requested.
The program has been arrang-
ed by Mrs. Robert Lewiston, pro-
gram chairman.
Rabbi Charles E. Shulman,
who has just completed three
years' duty as a naval chaplain,
spiritual leader of North Shore
Congregation Israel of Glencoe,
Ill., will be guest speaker. He
will discuss "How Shall the Jew
Face the World?"
Mrs. John Hopp, president of
the Beth El Sisterhood, will give
the Invocation. Mrs. Jacob A.
Schakne will lead in the singing
of the National Anthem, accom-
panied by Mrs. Jesse Rosen.
