Mrs. H. J. L. Frank of Colorado Ave. and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. are leaving this Friday for Acapulco,
Mex., for several weeks.
Mrs. Samuel J. -Lewis of Whitmore Rd. is expected home this
week from Shreveport, La., where she visited her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. I. Zackman Marks.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Rosenbaum of Boston Blvd. returned
Monday from Miami Beach,
Miss Isabel Wolfner has returned to New York City where
she is attending Columbia University, following a few days visit
With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julian G. Wolfner of Burlington Rd.
Mrs. Stanley J. Winkelman of Canterbury Rd. has left for
Berkeley, Cal., to meet her husband, Ensign Winkelman who re-
cently has returned from overseas.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himelhoch of the Whittier are vacationing
in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Joshau Sarasohn of Atkinson Ave. is spending a fortnight
in New York City and in Philadelphia where she is the guest of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Adams Shumway Jr.
Capt. Herbert Gordon Blumberg who served in the Army
Signal Corps for five years, including 10 months overseas, is
on terminal leave and is at home with his mother, Mrs. Oscar
Blumberg of Glynn Ct. .
Mr. and Mrs. Sol A. Wolff of Lawrence Ave. have left on a
two month vacation. Their itinerary will include Mexico, Guatemala,
Havana and Miami Beach. -
-Mervin Blach who was the house guest for 10 days of her
cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ginsberg of Chicago Blvd. has re-
turned to her home in Birmingham, Ala.
Maj. Daniel E. Cohn who has been with the Army Medical
Corps three years, including a year in the ETO, has received his
discharge and is spending a few weeks- in Miami Beach, Fla., with
his family before returning to Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lieberman of Birchcrest Dr. observed
their 25th wedding anniversary last Wednesday at the Roosevelt
Hotel in New Orleans, where they are spending a few weeks. They
are accompanied by their daughter, Marilyn. Their son, Edward, is
stationed with the marines in China.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman and their son, Henry, of
Fairfield Ave. left Wednesday for Palm Beach, Fla., where they
will spend a few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rubiner of Chicago Blvd. have returned
from New York City where they spent the last 10 days visiting
Dr. Bernard Heller.
Mr. and Mrs. Isador Lazar of 3784 Sturtevant will have open
house Sunday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 9 p. m. in honor of their -three
sons, Maj. Morton, now on terminal leave, and Howard and Richard,
both recently discharged from the army.
Mrs. Jack Fink of Dallas, Tex., is the guest of her brother-in-
law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Thal of Glynn Ct.
Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Crane and their son, Steven, of Boston
Blvd. have returned from Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Baruch of the Belcrest Hotel have returned
from New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Cohn of Fairfield Ave. are vacationing in
Miami Beach, Fla.
Pfc. Sol Sonenklar, in- service two and a half years including
11 months in the ETO, has received his discharge and is now at
home with his parents, Cantor and Mrs. Jacob Sonenklar of Calvert
Ave. His brother-in-law, Capt. Ozzie Simmons, who has been in
service four years, is on terminal leave. He and Mrs. Simmons
are for the present making their home with her parents.
Capt. and Mrs. Robert Tucker (Claire Sonenklar) and their
son, Larry, are spending a few days with her family enroute to
Florida where they will remain a few weeks. Capt. Tucker who
served with the Flying Tigers four years, including two years in
China, is on terminal leave.
Dr. and Mrs. Irvin Weisenthal of Prairie Ave. have returned
from Miami Beach, Fla.
F. 0. Arnold Rodin, in service 35 months, has received his
discharge. and is at home with his mother, Mrs. Rena Rodin of
Boston Blvd. and his sister, Reva.
Mrs. Sidney LeVine, of Whitmore Rd., accompanied by her
small son, Ronald, has left for San Diego, Cal, to join. her husband
who is stationed there with the Navy.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Solomon of Santa Rosa. Dr, have returned
from Miami Beach, Fla.
Cpl. Mauro Roth, in service two years including 17 months in
the ETO, has received his discharge. With Mrs. Roth and their son,
Jack, they are making their home at 17327 Stoepel. His brother,
S/Sgt. Robert Roth, who was in service 34 months including 28
months in the ETO, also has received his discharge. He and his
wife are making their home at 8655 Beachwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Lipson of Fairfield Ave. left last Sunday
for Miami Beach, Fla., where they will remain a few weeks.
Dr. and Mrs. Sol C. Grossman of 17391 Santa Barbara Dr. en-
tertained in honor of Corporals Max and Samuel B. Fried who re-
cently were released from the U. S. Army after more than four
years of service.
Miss Gloria Hamburger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Hamburger of 19451 Warrington Dr., has left to resume her studies
at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holbrook entertained at the Book Cadillac
in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kramer of Chicago who are
guests of their brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Goldstein
of Calvert Ave. announce the
marriage of their daughter, Mil-
dred, to Seymour Spira, son of
Mrs. Rose Spira of Pingree Ave.,
at the Shaarey Zedek, on Dec. 30.
Miss Connie Levine was maid
of honor. Norman Rubin was
best man. The bridesmaids were
the Misses Florine Chafetz, Mar-
ion Litt, Shirley Rosenthal and
Evelyn Stein.
After dinner, a reception was
held for 300 guests.
The newlyweds returned from
their honeymoon in Lake Pla-
cid, N. Y., and are making their
home at the Seward Hotel. •

technique to be taught by Jane
Dudley, Sophie Maslow and
William Bales at the Center,
Woodward at Holbrook, next
Thursday evening at 7:30.
Miss Dudley, a native New
Yorker, received her first pro-
fessional training under Hanya
Holm. For the past five seasons
she has been a featured member
and solo dancer of the Martha
Graham Co.
Sophie Maslow, also a native
New Yorker, had her first per-
forming experience in the child-
ren's productions of the famous
Neighborhood Playhouse, later
became a member of Martha
Graham's concert group and has
conducted courses at New York
University and at King-Smith
School in Washington.
William Bales was graduated
from the Drama School of
Carnegie Tech, in his native
Pittsburgh. In his teaching at
Vassar College, New York Uni-
versity and Bennington College,
where he is a member of the
faculty, he has emphasized the
dramatic elements in the dance.
He appeared as a performer for
many seasons with the Doris
Humphrey and Charles Weid-
man Group.

cleared of charges of anti-Semit-
ism as was restored to his post
as chief of UNRRA in Germany.
Morgan came to Washington to
appeal his dismissal to Herbert
Lehman, UNRRA director gen-
eral.
