Will Finish Sunday

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rubiner of Chicago Blvd. have as their
guest their son, Arthur James Rubiner, Y 3/c, who is on a 15-day
leave from his post at Norman, Okla. Mr. Rubiner's brother-in-law
and sister, Lt. and Mrs. Murray Kirschman, who have been their
guests for the last month, have left for Baltimore where they plan
to make their home. Lt. Kirschman is on terminal leave.
Sgt. Milton L. Slatkin, who has served with the AAF for 45
months, including two years in Alaska, has received his discharge
and is now at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slatkin
of LaSalle Blvd.
MM 3/c Marvin Rosen, who has recently returned from 22
months in the Pacific area, is spending his 30-day leave with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Rosen of Webb Ave. His brother, Lt.
J. G. Rosen, has returned to Tulane University, New Orleans, La.,
where he is stationed, after spending a 10-day leave with his family.
Sgt. Irwin Salwen, who has been in service for three years, has
received his discharge. He and Mrs. Salwen spent a few days with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Gallow of Calvert Ave., enroute
from Junction City, Mo., to make their home in New York.
Cpl. Ralph L. Smith, who has been in service for 42 months,
including 32 months in the Pacific area, has received his discharge
and with Mrs. Smith are for the present making their home with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Cooper of 3301 Sturtevant. He is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith of Fullerton Ave.
Cpl. Gerald Gordon left on Tuesday for his post at Greensboro,
N. C., after spending his 18-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Benjamin Gordon of Leslie Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. LeVine of Muirland Ave. have as their
guest Mrs. LeVine's sister, Mrs. I. Teval of Belmont, Miss. -
Capt. Davis lisenson returned on Wednesday to Richmond, Va.,
after spending a few days' leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Benson of Calvert Ave.
Pvt. Carl G. Seasword, Jr., who is stationed with the AAF in
Miami Beach, Fla., is spending a 25-day furlough with his parents,
Maj. and Mrs. Carl G. Seasword of Whitmore Rd.
Dr. and Mrs. Albert A. Krohn of Cambridge Rd. have returned
from a month's stay in Mexico.
B. L. Michelson-, who has been visiting his son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan H. Schermer, has left for Chatta-
nooga, Tenn., where he will be the guest of his son and daughter-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Michelson.
Mrs. Elias Herbert has returned to her home in Brooklyn, N. Y.,
after an extended visit with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Winkelman and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Goldman of Port Huron, Mich.
Maj. Irving H. Steinberg, who has been in service 4 1/2 years has
recently arrived in New York City after spending two years in the
ETO, is on terminal leave and is expected, home this week-end. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Steinberg of Byron Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Seymour M. Israel (Muriel Singer) have returned-
from their honeymoon and are residing at 3200 Boston Blvd.
A/C Harold M. Rosen, who was in service for two years, has
received his discharge and is at present attending the University of
Michigan. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Rosen.
Sgt Morris Smith, who has been in service for 31/2 years, in-
cluding 2 1/2 years in the ETO, has received his discharge and with
Mrs. Smith is for the present making his home with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rosenthal of Atkinson Ave. Their. brother,
S 2/c Sanford Rosenthal, who was home on a 10-day leave, has
returned to his post at Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Garelik of 18503 Fairfield Ave., will be
at home to their relatives and friends Saturday evening, in honor
of their son, Morton William, and son-in-law, Andrew A. Blau,
recently discharged from the army. The occasion also will mark
their thirtieth wedding anniversary.

A luncheon at the Lee Plaza
Hotel on Sunday, Jan. 13, will
climax the "Honor Roll" fund
raising campaign of the Business
and Professional Division of
Hadassah. Proceeds will be used
for child welfare and the Med-
ical Center's quota for the Di-
vision.
Rabbi - Eliezier Levi of the Bnai
Moshe Synagogue will be the
speaker. Morris Hochberg, vio-
linist with the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra, will provide the
musical program, accompanied
by Mrs. Sylvia Hochberg.
Miss Roslyn A. Corn is vice-
president of the division and is
assisting in preparation of ar-
rangements for the afternoon..

WOMEN'S AUXILIARY OF
JEWISH HOME FOR. AGED, at
an executive board meeting at
the home of Mrs. N. Blatnikoff
on Jan. 10, heard a report from
Mrs. M. J. Greenberg on the
USO breakfast at the Center on
Jan. 6. Hostesses were named to
serve at the Downtown USO on
Monday. Mrs. Koven, president,
announces a meeting of the
Auxiliary at the Home on Jan. 21.

Mr. and Mrs. David Rachwal of
13 Mohawk Road, Pontiac, Mich.,
announce the Bar Mitzvah of
their son, Sydney Charles, on
Saturday, Jan. 12, at Congrega-

L. N. Simons Named on
Inter-Racial Committee

George Schermer, director of
the City of Detroit Interracial
Committee, has appointed Leon-
ard N. Simons, of Simons-Michel-
son Company, to the City of De-
troit Interracial Committee, to
serve on the Popular Education
Committee.

Norman Cottlers, Wed 25 Years,
Are Honored by Two Groups
A surprise party was given by
members of Pinkster Aid Society
in honor, of the 25th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Cottler of 18600 San
Juan Dr., at Moss Catering Hall,
on Dec. 25. More than a hundred
were present.
On Jan. 2, Arlazaroff Branch
137 of Jewish National Worker's.
Alliance also honored Mr. and
Mrs. Cottler at an election meet-
ing held at the Rose Cohen Sit-
tig Hall, and inscribed their
names in the Golden Book.
Mr. and Mrs. Cottler redeemed
four dunams of land by con-
tributing $100 to the Jewish Na-
tional Fund.
