ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY
Staff Sgt. Howard Lazar, who has been in service 4 1/2 years,
including •26 months in the Pacific area, has received his discharge
and is at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Lazar of
Sturtevant Ave..
RM /2/c Lawrence Jay Klein, who has been in service three
years including 19 months in the ETO, has received his discharge
and with Mrs. Klein, the former Anne Reibel of Huntington Woods,
will make their home in Louisville, Ky.
Lt. Comdr. Joseph G. Weiss, who has served with the United
States Naval Medical Corps for three years, including one year
in the Pacific area, has received his discharge and with Mrs. Weiss
and their children, Morris and Helen, are at present with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Splter of Elmhurst Ave.
Cpl. Walter Strauss, who has been in service for three years,
including seven months in the ETO, has received his discharge and
with his wife and small daughter, Leslee Diane, are for the present
with her parents, Mr. • and Mrs. Ferdinand Alexander of Burl-
ingame Ave,
Petty Officer 2/c Oscar Boxman, who served with the U. S.
Navy for three years, has received his discharge and is at home
with Mrs. Boxman in their home in Webb Ave. His brother. S/i/c
Frank Boxman, who was with the Navy for four years, has also
received his discharge and is at home with their father, Jacob Box-
man, also of Webb Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Weinstein of 2254 W. Euclid will be at
home after 2 p. m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, in honor of their daughter,
Sgt. Mollie Weinstein, who has just been discharged from active
service with the .WACs. Miss Weinstein was in active service for
two years, 20 months of which she • spent in the ETO with the
medical intelligence unit. No cards.
Mr. and Mrs. William Korash of 422 E. Grand Blvd. will be at
home from 2 to 5 p. m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, in honor of their chil-
dren, Mr. and Mrs. Nat Korash, who have just returned from their
honeymoon in Florida.
Capt. and Mrs. Lawrence Friedman of Montrose Ave. had as
their guest the past fortnight the former's mother, Mrs. Henry
Friedman of New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Kraus (Betty Sklar) of Rochester Ave.
have just returned from a six-week tour through the middle-west.
Mrs. Joseph Tenenberg of 19352 Roselawn- is on a six-weeks'
visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Selik,
in San Diego, Calif. On her return trip she will visit her brother-
in-law, Lester I. Tenenberg, who has just returned froth three and
a half years in . a Japanese prison camp.

record kept by a young Roman-
ian Jewish boy, of his years of
wandering until he reached Eretz
Israel.
Joseph is one of thousands of
Jewish children saved by the
Youth Aliyah movement of Had-
assah.
Youth Aliyah provides homes
for those children in co-opera-
tive agricultural settlements, spe 7-
cial institutions and schools. The
major share of the cost of their"
maintenance and .education is
paid by Hadassah.

.furthering Youth Aliyah work
by the formation of new Miny-
anim, under the leadership of
the following chairmen: Central
Group, Mrs. Herman August;
Russell Woods, Mrs. Nathan
Goldman; University Group, Mrs.
Louis Zlatkin. Contributions of
$24 yearly, or. $2 monthly, con-
stitute. the Minyan plan. A spe-
cial program and tea will take
place Wednesday afternoon, Dec.
.12, to highlight this project.
