Palestine Village
Protests Shooting
KFAR GILADI (JPS-Palcor)—
Detroit Hadassah resumed its Jewish Palestine, at a standstill
year's activities on. Tuesday, at for six hours in a protest strike
a- rally of all members of the against British policy, focused its
four lOcal units, at Temple Beth
El, with Mrs. Judith G. Epstein
of New York, national. president,
as guest speaker. .
' Forty liadaSsah officers and
committee - chairmen, including
representatives - from outof-town
Chapters in the Central States
Region, met at breakfast at the
ilook Cadillac with Mrs. Ep;tein,
who advocated a Vigorous policy
in combatting the activities of
the small group of anti-Zionists.
Mrs. Epstein pointed out that
displaced European Jews must
necessarily have different treat-
ment from other displaced na-
tionals, since going back to their
original homes means a -continu-
ation of persecution by their
anti-Semitic neighbors. For this
reason, she stated, Palestine
should be available to unlimited
numbers of Jews. Under the
present British immigration re-
strictions, children are not per-
mitted to enter Palestine with-
out. certificates, but must be
counted. in with the adults. This
is due to the fact that there are
no young Jewish children left
in Europe; those now arriving in
Palestine are aged 14 to 18.
Mrs.. Epstein announced that
Hadassah, in partnership with the
Friends of the. Hebrew Univer-
sity, will build a medical school
as soon as conditions permit.
Women desiring to join may do

bership chairmen: Central Group,
