Return From Europe
Vaad Hahatzala-Rehabilitation
headquarters announce that re-
ports from their overseas repre-
sentatives, Dr. I. Lewin and Sam-
uel Schmidt, had arrived bring-
ing news of European Jewry's
tragedy and its struggle to be
restored to normalcy.
Mr. Schmidt has visited Frank-
furt, Munich, Landsberg, Weis-
baden and many other German
cities. He is shocked that after
four months of the liberation of
Germany, the Jewish survivors
of the 6,000,000 victims 'who were
tortured and murdered in Ger-
man concentration camps are
still confined in camps.
Dr. Lewin informs Vaad Hahat-
zala-Rehabilitation headquarters
that religious education in Brus-.
gels is terrible and that the com-
munity has appealed to him for
help. There are only two small
Talmud Torahs for the commun-
ity which numbers 20,000. He
asks that a sum be allocated for
the task of establishing a larger
school.
