Jewish Youth's

LISTENING

- By Danny Raskin

A FEW MONTHS ago, the late
Hy Broder told us that some of
the finest ideas for promoting
better social life in the communi-
ty are lying dormant in a great
many minds : . that if they
could be brought out," our social
progress would be quite fast,
indeed."
We'd like to hear those ideas.
Cooperation will go far in getting
the needed action.

NEW YORK (WNS)—The Am-

this week issued a statement de-
nouncing the "suddenly pro-
duced" and "unsupported story"
of Azzani Bey, secretary general
of the new Arab League, that the
late President Rosevelt h a d
proinised King Ibn Saud of Saudi
Arabia that he would 'not support
Zionist claims.
The statement says that on
March 16, 1945, President Roose-
velt, in an initialed note, .author-
ized Dr. Stephen S. Wise to de-
clare his position on Zionism re-
mained unchanged and that he
would "continue to seek to bring
about its earliest realization." The
statement further stressed that
when President Roosevelt's con-
tinued faith in Zionism was made
public on his behalf by Dr. Wise,
"nothing was heard from Ibn
Saud of any alleged promise to
him."
At the same time the Emer-
gency Council emphasized that it
was "significant" to note that
Azzam Bey has been urging the

continue its demand for the
prosecution of the Mufti of Jeru-
