man of this affair. The annual
donor luncheon, to take place
on Nov". 19, is under the chair-
manship of Mrs. Paul R. Free-
man, with Mrs. Elfreda Green-
wald as her co-chairman. The
first meeting of the season is
scheduled Aug. 15, at 12:30 p. m.

In Concert at Center- - Rally Here on Aug. 9
The music department of the
Jewish Center announces that
the sixth in the series of open-
air concerts will take place next
Monday, at 9 p. m., at the Center.
Tracy Silvester, lyric baritone,
will be heard in a full recital of
arias and songs by Donaudy,
Leoncavallo, Strauss, Tschaikow-
s k y, Moussorgsky, Hageman,
Seaver, Geehl, Lohr, Giannini
and Malotte. He will be accom-
panied at the piano by Inge
Gohde.
There is no charge. In case of
rain, the concert will be held
in the auditorium.
Hamburg Survivors
Seek Relatives Here
Through the courtesy of the
Jewish Telegraphic Agency, • the
office of the Jewish Social Serv-
ice Bureau has received copies of
650 Jewish survivors in Ham-
burg, a list of surviving Jews in
Camp Mauthausen, Austria and
Camp Saltzwedel, Germany, as
well as the Jewish survivors at
Dachau.
The last list contains the names
of three Detroiters, namely:

"Punish the War Criminals,
Now!" will be the theme of the
rally to be sponsored by the
Jewish Youth Forum, an affiliate
of the American Youth for
Democracy, which will be held
Thursday, Aug. 9, at 8 p. m., at

The rally which is open to the

NEW YORK—To increase the
effectiveness of relief and rehab-
ilitation operations being carried
on in \behalf of the surviving 1,-
250,000 Jews in continental Eu-
rope, the American Jewish Joint
Distribution Committee and the
South African Jewish War Ap-
peal have worked out an ar-
rangement which unites the two
organizations as partners in their
humanitarian work, it was made
know; by Dr. Joseph C. Hyman,
executive vice-chairman of the
J.D.C.
The program resulting from
discussions in Jerusalem by Leo
Feit, honorary treasuzer of the
South African Jewish War Ap-
peal, and Charles Passman, di-
rector of the Middle East pro-
gram for the J.D.C., calls for
the J.D.C. to continue the actual
distribution of relief supplies as
well as the setting up of long-
range rehabilitation and recon-
struction programs.
J.D.C. aid programs today
reach into every country in Eu-
rope, as well as in other war-
affected areas including ShN'ig-
hai, Manila; North' Africa, South
America and elsewhere. An es-
yecially-trained staff of nearly
30 Americans supervises J.D.C.
activities from on-the-spot posts.
