Kansas City Launches
$750,000 Medical Drive
KANSAS CITY, (JTA) — A
community-wide campaign to
raise upwards of $750,000 for
development of a medical center
to include a Home for Jewish ,
Aged and an addition to Menorah
Hospital to provide a hospital
for chronically ill has been
launched here by the Jewish
Welfare Federation of Greater
Kansas C .

Larry Rubinoff, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Rubinoff of
18100 Kentucky, has been se-
lected to attend the National
Music Camp at Interlochen,
Mich., for the current season.
A pupil of Norman Reaume,
the young pianist is a nephew
of the famous vionist, David
Rubinoff.
The camp, an affiliate of the
University of Michigan, has be-
come one of the outstanding
summer educational •projects of
the nation. It features a 200-
piece National High School Or-
chestra, a symphonic band of
150, a choir of 150, radio drama
workshop, modern dance depart-
ment and. many other artistic
activities.
Resumption of nation-wide
broadcasts from Interlochen are
dependent upon action by Con-
gress on the Vandenberg-Don-
dero Bill aimed at preventing
interference with the broadcast-
ing of non-commercial educa-
tional programs.

As President of Men's
Club of Bnai David

The Men's Club or Congrega-
tion Bnai David held its annual
'installation of officers in the soc-
ial hall a the synagogue, on
June 21.
The program opened with the
presentation of colors by Scout
Troop 135. Rabbi Joshua S.
Sperka delivered the opening
prayer.
B e r n a r d Dosie, installation
chairman, reviewed the club's
activities of the past year.
The following officers were
installed: •
Max Sampson, president; Ben-
jamin Fellows, vice president;
Harry Pearson, recording secre-
tary; Bernard Dosie, treasurer;
Samuel Traison, corresponding
secretary; David Liebow, finan-
cial secretary; Jack Docks, Sgt.-

the assembly. Mrs. Allen Kaplan
entertained by rendering several
musical selections accompanied
by Miss Beatrice Berman at the

NEW YORK (JPS) — Imple-
mentation of the International
pledge to reconstitute Palestine as
a Jewish Commonwealth must
begin now, Gov. Thomas E.
Dewey of New York, Republican
candidate for president in 1944,
declared in a statement he gave
to a delegation of the Mizrachi
Organization of America which
included Rabbi J. L. Fishman, of
Jerusalem, Mizrachi member of
the Jewish Agency's Executive
Committee.

Meisenberg and the late Philip

Hayim Greenberg

NEW YORK (JPS)—The Ex-
ecutive Committee of the Amer-
ican Zionist Emergency Council
has unanimously rejected Hayim
Greenberg's resignation from the
chairmanship of the Executive
Committee of the Council. The
motion to reject his resignation
was rwide by Mrs. Judith G. Ep-
stein, President of Hadassah.
Dr. Greenberg has refused to
withdraw his resignation.
