The announcement followed a
meeting of the newly appointed
Committee on Employment Dis-
crimination of the NCRAC.
Claude A. Benjamin, former
'chairman of the Coordinating
Committee, and an active leader
in Chicago of the • American
jewish- Congress, was elected
chairman of the NCRAC Corn-
- mittee on Employment Discrim-
ination. Mr. Benjamin is also the
president of the Chicago Bureau
on Jewish Employment ,Prob-
lems.
Sidney Hollander, president of
the Council of Jewish Federa-
tions and Welfare Funds, and a
member of the executive com-
mittee of the NCRAC, was elect-
ed vice chairman of the commit-
tee.

Monday Evening
Philip Slomovitz, editor of The
Detroit Jewish News, will report
on the San Francisco Conference
on Monday, June 11, at the Jew-
ish Community Center, Wood-
ward at Holbrook.
Mr. Slomovitz attended the
United Nations Conference as a
member of one of the Jewish
delegations.
This meeting is sponsored joint-
ly by the Detroit Section of the
American Jewish Congress, Zion-
ist Council of Detroit, Zionist
Organization of Detroit and Jew-
ish Community Center. The pub-
lic is invited.
Morris Garvett, chairman of
the Jewish Center adult educa-
tion committee, will preside.

Late David S. Zemon
The memory of the late David
S. Zemon will be honored at 12
noon Sunday, June 10, when his
portrait will be,presented to and
unveiled in the Library of Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.
Maurice Zackheim, chairman of
the,_ Library Board, announces
Rabbi A. M. Hershman will de-
liver brief remarks at the un-
veiling ceremony.
The late Mr. Zemon was the
founder and first president of the
Shaarey Zedek Library. He was
also president for many years of
the board of Clover Hill Park
Cemetery, and was active in
many community movements.

Eight 'Present Members
These nominees include eight
present members of the Execu-
tive Committee and seven new-
comers.
Council delegates may make
additional nominations from the
floor at the June 12 meeting.
The nominations committee has
already had before it a number
of recommendations submitted
by constituent organizations.
These recommendations were
considered in the deliberations
of the committee which consists
of Mr. Crohn, Irving W. Blum-
berg, Charles Driker, Mrs. Mau-
rice Klein, Dr. Kleinman, Irving
W. Schlussel and Harry Yudkoff.
Delegates will be required to
present their credentials in or-
der to qualify to participate in
the election.

ination committee, will be nom-
inated for the presidency of the
Jewish Community Council of
Detroit at the delegates' Meet-
ing on Tuesday, at 8:15 p. m., in
the auditorium of the Jewish
Community Center, it is an-
nounced by Lawrence W. Crohn,
chairman of the nominating com-
mittee.
Mr. Crohn, Rabbi Leon Fram
and Dr. S. Kleinman are the
committee's selections for the
three vice-presidencies. William
Hordes and Julian H. Krolik are
being renominated as secretary
and treasurer respectively.

that community offices and res-

NEW YORK—An agreement was reached Monday night
by the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee,
United Palestine Appeal and the National Refugee Service to
revive the United Jewish Appeal for 1945.
The agreement was reached upon recommendation of
the President's War Relief Control Board.
Details for the reconstruction of the UJA are being
planned by the heads of the three fund-raising agencies.
After the NRS receives its required budgetary allot-
ment of $1,500,000, the funds raised will be divided on the
basis of 57 per cent for the JDC and 43 per cent for the UPA.
A ceiling will be set up for the collections of the Jew-
ish National Fund and for receipts for the JDC coming
from landsmanschaf ten.
Isidore Sobeloff, executive director of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation, who is president of the National Conference
of Jewish Social Welfare, in an address at the opening ses-
sion of the social workers' three-day conference in New
York praised the:agreement to conduct a united campaign
throughout the country for the coming year.

STOCKHOLM (JPS)—Jewish
women, among a group of 6,000
Polish refugees liberated from
German slave-labor camps and
now housed in Sweden, have
been separated, at their own re-
quest, from Polish women, be-
cause of the anti-Semitic atti-
tude of the latter.
BERN (JTA) — Ten Arrow
Cross leaders, including one wo-
man, have been arrested in Bud-
apest, charged with robbing and
murdering Jews during the Ger-
man occupation, it is reported in
the newspaper of the National
Peasant Party received here.
