To give public expression to the request that the Jewish

communities through out the
country.

Treasury Dept. Hails ZOA's
$95,000,000 Bond Drive

Morgenthau's Special Aide Praises Organization's Program
in 7th War Loan to Raise Enough to Purchase
Huge Aircraft Carrier Vessel

WASHINGTON—The goal of
$95,000,000 that has been set by
the Zionist Organization of Am-
erica in its current War Bond
Drive to sponsor the purchase of
an aircraft carrier of the "Frank-
lin D. Roosevelt" type is hailed
by the U. S. Treasury Depart-
ment in a communication ad-
dressed to leaders and workers
of the organization by Mr. Wil-
liam FitzGibbon, special aide to
Secretary Morgenthau.
Alluding to the fact that the
Zionist Organization of America
has been awarded the highest
U. S. Treasury citation in its last
two consecutive drives for dis-
tinguished services to the war ef-
fort, FitzGibbon states:
"Under the dynamic leader-
ship of its president, Dr. Israel
Goldstein, your patriotic organ-
ization, which in two previous
projects sold more than $90,000,-
000 worth of Bonds, is now de-
termined to top that record dur-
ing your special "Victory Drive
in '45."
The U. S. Treasury communi-
cation refers to the statement
made by the ZOA president that
`American Zionists pledged their
life and the lives of their child-
ren, their substances, and their
sacred honor to the speeding of
the victory which will bring lib-
eration to all the oppressed of
the earth.'
"You are redeeming that
pledge. Your sons, daughters, and
loved ones,"—declared Mr. Fitz-
Gibbon—"are fighting on the far-
flung battle fronts of this global
conflict, and I am confident that

every Zionist at home will in-
vest his substance in War Sav-
ings Bonds during this $95,000,-
000 campaign to hasten the day
of liberation for the oppressed
peoples of the world."
